Third Person's POV
A woman was aimlessly wandering the street of a dark and cold town. It was dawn and the lamp streets were broken. Her hair was messy and her dress was torn. She was bitterly crying for help, knocking on the doors of every villager but no one responded.
That same hour, a group of elves were fighting against some elf hunters. They were just a few blocks away from her. A lad suddenly heard a cry coming from the dark side of the town so he hurriedly went to help. As he set out to find where that noise came from, he saw a woman in her ragged dress, crying so he went to help her.
"Are you okay?" he asked but the woman before him suddenly collapsed before she could even give an answer. He caught her in his arms and went back to his fellow elves.
They decided to let the woman stay in their base. The Elf Queen dressed and feed her. The woman was very grateful towards them. The Queen decided to ask her her story. She was hesitant for a moment but finally decided to speak up.
"I am Heather Clive, Your majesty. My family...they were massacred the day when I came here. I was almost killed but fortunately, I escaped from them," she cried because the memory was still fresh, she could clearly remember it.
"Do you still remember who those people were?" she asked as she gently ruffled her hair.
"I don't, Your Majesty. It was dark when they barged into our house," she explained while sobbing but immediately stopped and wiped her tears. "But I do remember that there was a Mafia boss who was angry at my dad for ruling his son guilty over a rape case," she said.
The Queen was silent for a moment, thinking about the possible scenarios and after a few minutes, she spoke up.
"I'm putting that Mafia boss a suspect of your family's massacre but we can't be so sure," she confidently said. She was right. It was them who did such atrocity but they don't hold any evidence that will point to the Mafia boss as a suspect.
"I'm sorry but Your Majesty, we don't have any evidence against him," she said worriedly but the Queen just smiled at her and replied, "We will help you find it."
Heather hugged the Queen so tight and cried, thanking her. Then she paused for a moment. Her face looked so puzzled as she was searching for something on her body.
"Your Majesty, have you perhaps seen the necklace I was wearing?" she politely asked while searching for it.
"I forgot to tell you, we removed your necklace while our elf doctors cured your injuries and wounds. Don't worry Heather, August kept it safe," she reassuringly replied.
"August?" she muttered to herself.
"He was the one who saw you and brought you here," she said and smiled at her.
It was a perfect timing when August passed by because Heather was looking for him. The Queen called him and he immediately went to her.
"May I help you with something, Your Majesty?" he politely asked and bowed at her.
"Heather is looking for her necklace," she replied making August look at Heather, who was slightly hiding behind her.
"You must be Heather. It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Augustus Donovan, an Alvar," he said as he bowed at her.
"You don't have to be so formal with me," she said and chuckled. "It's a pleasure to meet you too August but uh...can I have my necklace?" she hesitantly asked to him. She was unsure on how to ask him politely.
"Oh," he paused and dug something out from his coat's pocket. "Here," he said and gave her her necklace.
"I have to go for a meeting. The High Elves must be looking for me by now. August, I will leave Heather in your care," she ordered.
"Yes Your Majesty," he replied and bowed at her.
The Queen left, leaving August and Heather behind. Both of them was awkward making the atmosphere between them uncomfortable. Until August asked Heather something.
"Uh can I ask you something?" he asked making Heather smile at him.
"Sure," she nodded.
"Where did you get that necklace?"
"Oh this? My mom gave it to me when I was little. Actually, this necklace is much older than me. It has been passed down as a valuable inheritance. I'll tell you the story behind this necklace," she explained making August sweat nervously.
"Primrose Underwood, my first ancestor own this," she started making August cough.
"Are you okay?" she asked worriedly.
"I'm fine. Go on with your story," he replied and smiled at her.
"My mom said Primrose was a very intelligent woman with class. She read over a thousand books about literature and medicine. She was the prettiest girl that lived during her time and in fact, a lot of suitors tried to pursue her but they had all been rejected. She was busy caring for her family that she forgot to give herself a time. As I mentioned before, all her suitors got rejected but a man captured her heart. They became lovers and that man was the one who gave her this necklace," she explained and looked at August, who's shoulders were stiff and tensed.
"Are you okay? Shall I call the doctors?" she asked again, concern lacing in her tone.
"Uh I-I have to go now," he nervously said and stuttered, making Heather puzzled.
He left as soon as he heard the story. The story about the necklace. The story about Primrose and him. It was his necklace. He was the one who gave it to Prim.
