Opal's Story

Worst Days

It had been one of the worst days ever, Mike was nagging Tracy about talking to Cam about something, the kids were in pieces and Tracy was nowhere to be seen all day

And me?

Well I just stayed in my room and cried until it physically hurt...

Just as I was settling in, everything was changing.

I go to the bathroom to get ready for bed, first time I've left my room today. And I hear Lily and Tee talking about Tracy

'She doesn't like us anymore' I say

'She does, she just likes being a writer better' Tee says

I knew she didn't mean no harm by saying that but still it hurt

I was never anyone's 'better'

I thought I was Tracys. Obviously not.

'Maybe they'll want photos for the article and they can buy us new clothes' Carmen says making Tee giggle

'As if! Liams right we shouldn't do her stupid article!' Lily says

'Why are you both so cross with Tracy? She can leave if she wants too' Tee says

Lily starts talking about Rosie and Poppy which only upsets me further

'Opal I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you' she says

I nod, I know she never but right now I was too emotional to cope

'None of us are doing it' I say

Tee looks to the floor

'Johnny wants me too' She says

I roll my eyes, he was so controlling

'Well you do what you want but I ain't helping her' I say

'Me either' Lily says

Tee walks out and shortly I hear her say Johnnys name

He comes into my room

'Tees doing Tracys article okay?' He says

'No it's not okay. You don't get to decide what she does!' I say, sick of his bossiness

'Johnny please' tee begs her brother to stop but he doesn't

'Let's let tee decide' I say looking at her

'She has decided' he states

'Well...I haven't' she says timidly

'She's doing it!' He demands

'Let her speak!!' I say angrily

'Just cuz you lost your sister don't go poking your nose in mine!' He says to me

I see red at this, they'd all heard about my sister by now

Lily and Tee look at me, shocked.

'Get out!!' I shout pushing him out of my room and slapping him, unable to stop

Gina runs over to me and holds me back from Johnny

'Gina get off me!!' I say, trying to get past her, making sure he would pay for saying that

'What's happened?' She asks me

'Tee wants to do Tracys article' Johnny says

'No she doesn't' I say
