ALLY

I haven't been able to have any sleep for the past week so much because I've been waiting to hear back from my doctor to let me know if rather or not my breast cancer came back and how bad it is.

I went for a routine checkup almost two weeks ago and they found what they think is a lump. Which scares me. Because I used to have breast cancer when I was in high school for a couple of years and luckily at the time I had caught it in time so that I was able to go through a little bit of chemo and ended up saving my breasts but was also told it could return.

I do have a feeling that I don't have it but I can't help but worry until I find out the results and will have a better feeling.

I couldn't sleep tonight in particular cause they said that any day this week they would tell me the results. So here I am, like a weirdo, sitting at a booth in an opened 24/7 diner, alone, waiting for results that might not even come back til later this week.

I haven't even told Drake about the possibility. I don't want to neither unless there's something to say. No need in worrying about something if it isn't there right?

I did learn something though when I had it before. I remember that I had already been self conscious and then thought about losing my breast(s) and how I would feel but you know what? Someone in the treatment facility who was there when I was told that it isn't 'breasts' that makes you beautiful or even a woman. YOU makes you a woman. How you feel and who you are.

I'm not sure really why I thought of that but on the other hand it is nice and comforting to think about things like that and does seem to help calm me down.

However, I begin to feel a bit nervous and a little uncomfortable more when I look up from after looking at my phone for the tenth time in the past hour and saw Parker walking towards me. Out of all the places, why is he here?

"You can't sleep either or are you waiting for someone?" He asks me.

"I can't sleep." I reply.

"Mind if I join you?" He asks with a smirk.

"Sure." I shrug my shoulders and put my phone in my purse.

He takes a seat across from me and when the waitress brings us our food, we continue to sit across from each other without talking.

I notice him look at me as I check my phone after it goes off indicating I got a message.

"Excuse me." I tell him while picking it up and look at it. After seeing it was just an update for an app, annoyed, I set it back in my purse.

"Boyfriend?" I hear him ask me.

"Boyfriend?" I ask trying not to laugh. "No. I'm just waiting for something important." I tell him while dipping my seasoned fries into the side of ranch I got and take a bite from it.

"Is everything okay?" He asks me.

"Yeah." I force a smile and try to change the subject. "So why can't you sleep?"

"It's a habit. I'm just not much of a sleeper in general but especially recently because of the new clients we recently got." He tells me as he takes another bite from his pancakes.

I'm jealous. He can eat things like that and yet look the way he does and most likely doesn't have to work out that much, if any at all.

"Oh." I reply.

We share another brief awkward moment of silence and then he breaks it.

"So you really like ranch huh?" He smiles.

"Yeah." I smile after I had just dipped my club sandwich in some ranch. "Want to try it?"

He shrugs his shoulders.

"Yeah." He answers.

I hand him a dipped seasoned fry and as soon as he eats it, I can tell right away he likes it a lot.

"Good?" I asked.

"Surprisingly yes." He laughs a little to himself.

"Want some more?" I offer.

"I'm good thanks. But do you want some of my pancakes?" He offers.

I accept his offer and they are really good too.

Then we continue eating while talking to each other and getting to know each other a little bit more.

It was nice and interesting I'll say. I can't complain really since it helped get my mind off of the worry I felt.

Who would have thought he was an 'okay' kind of a guy.
