I woke up this morning, groaning. I was too tired to get up. I had a billion things to get done, during and after school. I reached for my glasses. shoving them onto my face, and pulling the covers off of me. I threw on my robe and headed for the bathroom. I heard the shower on, and I immediantly began to get angry. I pounded on the door, how was it that I purposefully woke up half and hour later, and my sister is still hogging the bathroom? I continued to pound on the door, until I heard the shower go off. The door opened, and behind it was a my very pissed off half-naked twin sister Harmony. "What the hell Mel?" She yelled, water dripping down to the bathroom floor. "I woke up late, and you still manage to hog the bathroom. This is ridiculous!" I shouted back at her. We continued to bicker until my mom stormed up the stairs, in her bed head. "Will you girls stop fighting, so we can get so sleep around here! You are sisters! Act like it!" She yelled at us.
We looked at eachother, and answered at the same time , "It was her fault!" We yelled pointing at eachother. Our mother sighed. "I am going to go climb back into bed, and I don't want to here another word, do you understand me?" My mother shouted. We nodded. "I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" She shouted even louder this time. "Yes mother." We answered in unison, then rolled our eyes, once we realized we had said the same thing, at the same time again. After our mother was out of sight, it started again. It ended when Harmony, grabbed her things, and stormed out of the bathroom. This is usually how our morning starts.
I quickly scurried into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I pulled off my glasses, and placed them on the sink. Turning on the shower, I began to strip. I hopped into the shower, washing my hair quickly, and running the soap throughly around my body. I had to hurry up, I had to go to the computer lab, and start my paper that is due in two weeks, so I can have time to write in the schools news paper. Yes I am a very busy person. I also have to get ready for volleyball tryouts which start today.
Volleyball is where I can express myself, let out all my anger. Especially with a morning like this I need all the practice I can get. I quickly turned off water, grabbed my clothes, and my glasses and rushed into my room. Wrapping one towel around my body, and the other in my hair, I walked over to my full closet. My closet was a walk in , and was full of clothes. I didn't wear half of them, but my grandmother insisted. My grandma Betty is rich, and always buys my sister and I tons of clothes when she visits. I decided on my usual outfit, a T-shirt and a pair of washed out jeans, I slipped on my worn out sneakers, and began to address my hair blonde hair. I dryed it with my towel, not bothering to care for the blowdryer, and slipped it up into a messy ponytail, and was on my way. I grabbed my bag, as well as my gym bag for volleyball, and started down the stairs.
As usual my sister wasn't ready, she probably hasn't even decided on an outfit yet. Typical Harmony. I grabbed some cereal, a bowl, a spoon, and the milk from the fridge and prepared myself some breakfast. I ate it quickly, rinsed my dish, and placed it in the cabinet. Surprisingly, by this time Harmony headed down the stairs with a pair or denim short shorts, and a strapless shirt, which she purposefully made show her belly button piercing. I gagged. She looked me up and down and shook her head disaproovingly. "I don't understand how we're related. Better yet identicak twins." She commented, grabbing an apple from the bowl, washing it, then taking a bite from it. "Neither do I." I agreed.
We're complete opposites. Shes popular, I'm not. She cares what people think I don't. She has had a million boyfriends I've had one. Shes the sweet and innocent one, I speak whats on my mind, which probably explains my lack of friends. The list goes on and on. My parents thought it would be cool to name us after music. Hense the reason her name is Harmony and mine is Melody. I go by Mel though, to certain people.
"Well I'm out." I say grabbing my coat off the rack, as well as my keys. I pick up my bag, and walk out into the sunny day. I step into my silver Lexus, and start the car. I back out, and head to school. I have a silver Lexus, while Harmony has a red one.
When I finally reach school grounds, I park across the street, I never park on school grounds. Ever.
The first thing I do when I get inside is head to my locker. I slip off my jacket and hang it on the hook. I shut my locker, lock it, and head into the computer lab. I quickly log on, and start my research. I get very little done before the bell rings, and I have to go. I grab my bag and slip out the door, not before bumping into someone. I fall over but luckily, get a grasp on the chair, and pull mysef up. The other person, wasn't so lucky at all.
"Sorry." I say offering my hand to the stranger. He grabs my hand and pulls himself up, causing me to tip over slightly. He wraps his hand around my waist before I can. I look up to see Luke. He's been crushing on my sister for a while now. But she wouldn't give him the time of day. I personally think he's the type of person she needs in her life, and hes actually quite attractive. Not that I could judge. He has dark brown hair, and green eyes. He's kind of on the nerdy side, but not too much, he's just smart.
"Its alright." He answers still watching me. I notice his hands are still wrapped around my waist, sending shivers down my spine. I grab his hands, ands gently, remove them for my waist, while he just smiles. "Your Harmony's sister right?"
I roll my eyes. Harmony. Harmony. Harmony. Thats all I'll ever been known as Harmony's sisters. "I'm Melody. And yeah I guess." I mutter.
"You guys look so alike, couldnt tell you apart." Lie.
"I almost got confused." Lie.
"I mean, its like you guys are the spitting image." Lie again. Theres no way we look alike. Yes we are identical. But we dont dress or act alike, so you could tell us apart, within one glance. I gaze at my watch, praying he'll get the hint, before I'll have to result to being rude. He clearly does. "Well I won't take up anymore of your time, hopefully I'll see you around sometime." He says. Lie number four.
"Yeah I guess." I stop in my tracks. Wait for it. One... Two.. Three.. "Oh and would you tell your sister I said Hello or something. Tell her to give me a call." I knew it was coming, just as I suspected right on cue. I just nod, I won't pass on the message. Its always about her. Harmony. Harmony. Harmony. I'm getting sick of it.
