THE SEA MONSTER

Well, all I can say is.... a walk on the beach with the one you admire is just as amazing as winning lottery. The gentle, yet powerful waves are hypnotizing. Peaceful. As I lay on the beach towel next to Samir's, all that's running through my head is thoughts of peace and love.
"Robert?" I heard the soft voice of Samir which I treasured more than anything else in the world.
"Yes, Samir?"
"How 'bout we take a walk down the beach instead of lying here?" Samir stood up and grinned down at me, his body blocking the view of the bright sun in front of me.
"Sounds good to me," I stand up and wrap an arm around the short goofball.
After walking down the shore, enjoying the peace and quiet, a loud crash and scream fills the air. A sea monster had washed up on the beach and was attacking anything in sight.
"Samir! Run!" I grabbed Samir by the wrist and ran as fast as possible.
"Wait! It looks cute. Like a giant octopuppy!" Samir pointed at the 20 foot tall creature and approached it slowly, holding beef jerkey as an offering. The octopuppy took notice of Samir and his food. It laid down and made a cute bark, something that wouldn't come out of a 20 foot tall octopus puppy.
"Hello friend," Samir said, petting it's head with a grin on his face. "I'm gonna name you....." Samir paused, not too sure what to name the cutest sea monster.
I couldn't help but grin at Samir, his love and understanding for animals is why he's so great.
"How about we let the readers pick it's name."
"Sounds good to me, Robert," Samir replied happily.
Suddenly, the big, intimidating sea creature seemed gentle.
As Samir and I took the creature back to his place I realized that by judging the sweet creature by its looks was wrong. Just because someone or something looks intimidating doesn't mean you should be scared of them. It means you should get to know them. Maybe then the world would be a better place, not so prejudice, not so cruel, but filled with love and respect. And that's what makes the world go round. Love and respect.
