Once I was fine,
Once I was happy.
I found my light,
The darkness retreated.Once I was happy as could be,
Once I was sad beyond disbelief.
Once I cried and yelled,
Once I held my thoughts in.
They were a ticking time bomb.Once I thought we could have it all,
Once I tried to bring you back.Once I saw I was loved by none.
Once I found I was someone,
I found that despite your absence,
I can survive,
Continue to thrive.
Once I was with the dark,
Now not anymore.
Once I questioned my next step,
Once I didn't know what to do.
Once I thoughtAm I just better off with you?
Could I be happy like that?
When could I see you again?Once I had you,
Once you were near,
Once I had the future held dear. Now you are gone,
Plans not finished,
Leaving me to think back.To the once, I thought,
Once I believed,
Once I felt.Never knowing what would come next,
Only knowing what once happened. The price of love,
Is loss.
And still, I pay,
I pay for every day.
