Warm, tired arms that wrap around me at due hours of the day
She's feeling whipped and restless, but her drive will never sway

Providing for her children, and simultaneously spreading love
Making every breath count, her heart soars like a dove

Like a tree with many branches, she spreads them far and grows
And no matter what life throws at her, she never lets time know

She hands out pieces of her heart, like we throw bread to ducks
Always giving, hardly taking, feeling like she has enough

Racing past the hours in a day like a whirring blizzard
Using her teeth to open things, instead of finding scissors

Always in a rush
Always racing the clock
She finds peace and hush
When the dreary night knocks

She hopes for a better tomorrow, with every breath she draws
Every crooked sigh she utters, never shows grace to her flaws
She is always working hard, always doing her best
Sometimes we need to remind her,
She could use a little rest

Sweet dreams mother, rest assured that I stand by you
I see the restrain in your eyes
Sightless scars that just can't hide through

Underneath those scars are pumping veins
That feed a big swelling heart
That pours endless care into our lives
And has done it since the start

I love you forever, and I know that's quite long
I love you forever, so let's tread through life strong

My silly mother goose, you're my rock and my song
