Someone in a Hood tried to Kill Us

Starlight's POV-

Every time Sunburst visits, the first day I wake him up super early. Why? Because we have a long day ahead of us and I don't like waiting!

It was 7:30 am. The sun was just rising but I had been up for almost an hour. I was already dressed and ready to start the day! But my friend wasn't. And that bothered me.

I opened my door to my bedroom and walked out into the hallway, shutting the door behind me. I looked around to see if anyone was there. Empty. It was slightly dark since the sun wasn't fully risen. I sauntered down the hall on my way to Sunburst's room before I remembered something.

Should I check if Twilight's back yet?

I turned around and went to her room. I creaked open the door and poked my head in. Her room was completely dark and more silent than the hall. She wasn't there.

Maybe they're still at the tree. Should I be worried?

I shook it off. Maybe they went out to celebrate a victory something? Whatever it was, I was sure they were safe and continued hurrying off to Sunburst's room.

His room wasn't too far away from mine so it didn't take forever to get to it like it did the bathroom in this place.

I slowly and quietly opened up the door and poked my head in once again. I could see Sunburt's hair pop out from the top of the covers. He was facing away and towards the window. Perfect. I shut the door, trying not to make any noise with it and tiptoed around the bed. I peered over to him, making sure he was sleeping. I smiled as I grabbed the curtains on the window. I quickly pulled them open.

"TIME TO GET UP!" I said loudly.

Sunburst jumped and almost fell out of his bed.

"Starlight!" he said with his voice cracking.

I giggled to myself.

He sat up, out of breathe from the scare. He tried hiding the blanket up to him like he was trying to hide something. I don't know what and don't need to know. I noticed that he had slept in his shirt and that some time during the night majority of the buttons had gotten unbuttoned showing half his chest. Maybe that's what he was trying to hide.

"Do you have to do this every time I visit?!" he said.

I let go of the curtains and let them fall.

"Yes! We have a big day ahead of us and I'm anxious to start!" I said ambitiously.

"The day has hardly started!" Sunburst said moving his hand towards the window.

Sunburst definitely wasn't a morning person.

"Not in my book!" I said heading towards the door. "Now get dressed already!"

I smiled at him and opened the door.

"Oh! And you might need a coat!"

I walked out and shut the door.

Eventually, my stubborn friend came out. He ended up taking off his wizard robe and wearing a green jacket with spiky fur around the hood. I just wore an old purple winter coat I had forever.

The sun had risen a bit more. Now it was only around 8am, so not too early. We walked the road down from the castle but, something wasn't right.

We had just made it to the middle of town when we got distracted by Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle running around strangely. They were going through allies and walking into stores like they were looking for something.
