I Had To Do It

Starlight's POV-

The train left the station a little bit after we got off. While Sunburst, Trixie and I spent that time going through a map of Canterlot to find out where the heck Restaurant Row was. Eventually we found it and surprisingly it wasn't very far away from the train station.

I hadn't been here for a while and even then I didn't know my way around. Trixie had done a few shows here and Sunburst came here once when he was a kid for a family vacation, not to mention he kinda lived here to go to magic school. Canterlot is a very bright place, literally bright. It's main colors are white, purple, and yellow. At least it wasn't Manhattan.

I'll save some time, but we got to the alley where Restaurant Row was. It was actually a little hidden. You had to enter through two buildings that were squished together.

Inside were many restaurants lined up one by one on each side. Some were colored and some were dull. It was very empty. Almost no one was there. But you couldn't blame them, we probably looked like crazy people being out at 8:30 in the morning. There were people on ladders hanging up banners and others setting up booths. I assumed that they were getting ready for the couples night.

We all looked at each sign there was just to see if there was a "Jojo's" anywhere. None of us owned a single thing of technology either so we couldn't look it up. Sunburst and I don't see the reason to pay for a device and Trixie just can't afford one.

Then, Sunburst spotted a sign on a building that said: "Jojo's Diner," and a red arrow pointing ahead. A little excited, he sped up a bit to see what it was. There was an opening between two stores that had a fountain in the middle of it. On the other side was a smaller building with a big sign across the top saying, "Jojo's Diner."

"Found it!" Sunburst called to Trixie and I who were falling behind.

We ran next to him and saw it.

"Oh thank Celestia!" Trixie said. "It's been hours!"

"It's been 20 minutes, Trix," I corrected.

Trixie just rolled her eyes. There was a dark path between the two buildings. It was on the right side, opening up to another street. Good place to meet someone that you weren't supposed to.

"What's that on the window?" Sunburst asked.

I looked back over to the front of the store. There was big sign in the middle of one of the windows that read: "NOT OPEN FOR COUPLES NIGHT."

"I am quite blind so it's hard to see." he said, straightening his glasses.

"Not open on couple's night?" I said.

"Makes sense," Trixie crossed her arms. "If I was doing a drug deal then I wouldn't choose an open store to meet at."

"Seriously?" I said. "A drug deal?"

"It's a possibility!" Trixie convinced.

I shrugged, pointing my focus back the art in the middle of the opening. The fountain looked like the one back home at Sire's Hollow. It wasn't a duplicate, but it just reminded me of it. One time, when Sunburst and I were younger, we were sitting on the edge and I fell back into it. I grabbed Sunburst's arm, not thinking about it and ended up pulling him in as well. We just laughed about it and splashed each other like it was nothing. Yes, we got in trouble for it, but it made for a happy memory.

"Great, now we just have to wait until tonight," Sunburst said.

"Now how are we gonna do this without looking like creeps?" Trixie asked.
