Chapter 4
Sara P.O.V
Waking up the next morning it was quite early seeing that the sun had just barely risen. But that did not stop me from getting dressed and ready for the day pretty quickly. Also picking an overnight bag for our trip did not take me long before I went downstairs to make my own breakfast. I had almost finished when mum came down to make breakfast for everyone with a surprised look on her face.
" Morning sweetie what are you doing up so early?" she questioned
" Morning mum just excited to spend the weekend with Tina " I replied
" Okay just be careful heading over there okay? " She said sternly
" Yes mum I will be careful " I said giving her a smile back
She just gave me a nod in return and went to make breakfast for everyone else. I waited about an hour before leaving to let the food settle in and to make sure I was meeting the twins at the right time.
It wasn't long before I said goodbye to everyone and started on my way to Tina's to meet up with the twins before heading off. It didn't take long to reach Tina's house it was about a fifteen-minute walk into town. The twins were already there when I arrived and judging on the way they could hardly stand still it wasn't hard to see that they were excited as well.
" Hi, you're just on time" Sally said when she saw me come into view
"Hi Sara, quickly say hello to Tina so we head off" Scarlett said straight after Sally
"Okay, okay don't get your knickers in a bunch" I said shrugging her off
We all went inside and had a quick chat to Tina before Scarlett announced we better get going if we want to get there before nightfall. Double checking that we had everything we started our trek towards the Middle Mountains with Tina yelling out behind us,
"Go and become total badass dragon riders!"

Two hours into the trek through the forest path we came across a stream and decided to sit down next to it to have some lunch and rest up for a bit.
" Hey, Sara do you think you'll find your dragon tomorrow?" Said Scarlett
" I'm not sure what about you two?" I said thinking it over
" I got a feeling that I might, how about you Scarlett? " said a very excited Sally
" Yeah me too and if I do I want it to be an orange female but I get what I get it doesn't matter as long as I have one " Scarlett said with a shrug
" Oh and mine a blue male but I don't care what colour but I just want a male if I even get one " said a very jumpy Sally
" Ok guess we will just have to find out so we better get going again if we want to get there before it gets dark " I said
" Ok let's go " said Sally who was basically pulling Scarlett out of her seat with excitement

A little while later while admiring the scenery we came across a very beautiful meadow and decided to take a break while sitting and admiring it. If there is one thing that the twins can do it is talk and that's all they have done since we started and we are about six hours into the trek. At least we only have about four hours left before we arrive where we are staying the night.
About half an hour later we were getting ready to leave when I felt a tap on the shoulder. Turning around I became faced with three other girls who looked around the same age as us.
"Hi, we were wondering if you guys are headed to the Middle Mountains" The shorter one of the three asked
"Hi, yes we are, are you guys headed there as well?" I replied
" Yes it's our first time going and we are a little worried that we should have reached it by now" she answered back
" Well this is, I honestly don't know how many times we've been, but we come every month and there are still four hours before we get there" I replied
"Okay thanks that's a relief, I'm Alex by the way" she said introducing herself
" Sara and this is Sally and Scarlett, We would be happy to take you guys with us" I said with a smile
" That would be great thank you and this is Telesha and Emily" Alex replied gratefully gesturing to the two girls with her
" Okay we better get going if we want to get there before dark " I said as we started walking in the right direction

Making the final hours of the trek we found out a lot of things about our new friends, like how they come from the village two hours away from ours and why this was their first trek to the Middle Mountains. We found out that they really never seen a dragon up close before which is understandable because most commoners never get the chance to a see any sort of dragon up close or maybe never see one in their lifetime. The twins and I were lucky as seeing our fathers are dragon riders we get to see dragons all the time and be around them as well. But the most important thing was that they absolutely loved dragons as much as we did.
When we reached the base of the Middle Mountains there are small accommodation huts that people could rent out and we decided to rent out one with our new friends. When everyone got inside we all collapsed into couches, it had been a long day of trekking and we all needed to rest. Before long some of us made dinner and we all ate, showered and headed to bed besides, tomorrow was an exciting day and none of us could wait to find out of we were bonded to a dragon or not.
Before I drifted off I quickly remembered to call mum to say goodnight and to tell her that I was okay, before drifting off with a weird feeling in my gut saying tomorrow something was not going to plan.
