Chapter 9

Sara's P.O.V

It has been a whole month since Dad told me that I'm going Golden-Wings and in that time Revlon has grown quite a bit that he is now about twice the size of a horse. Which means that now I can ride him and the first flight was quite a ride, to say the least.

( Flashback )

After finishing up breakfast I made my way down to the stables where Revlon now stays because he is way too big to fit in the house let alone my bedroom. Arriving I was greeted by the dragons letting out a sound of greeting.

" Morning Sara" Revlon greeted through our link

" Morning Rev" I said walking over to Granger first then Revlon

" You hungry?" I asked

" Always " He said bumping my arm as to say hurry up

I just shook my head at him and said hello to Benedict before walking over to the feed room to find them all breakfast. After they had their fill Revlon shocked me by saying,

" Thanks Sara, I am now strong enough for you to ride me"

" Really are sure?" I asked

" One hundred per cent sure" he said coming down to my eye level

" Okay I'm going to see if dad has a spare saddle so I don't slip off" I said rushing off to look for a saddle

I eventually found one under a dusty tarp in one of the rooms in the stable. When I uncovered it was in good shape and it was quite pretty too, it had pretty swirls in graved into the side of the brown leather.

" Found one let's see how it fits" I said walking back out to Revlon who made his way out of his stable 

" Tell me if it's too tight" I told him as I put it on and adjusted the straps

" Is that alright?" I asked

" It's fine, weird feeling but fine" he said

" Okay let's do this" I said excitedly walking outside with Revlon following

Once outside I faced the saddle took a deep breath and pulled myself up. I've never ridden before but I remembered I was born to do this.

" Are you okay Sara?" He said looking back at me

" Yes just a bit nervous" I said

" I won't let anything happen to you just tell me when your ready" He said trying to calm my nerves

" I know you won't" I said " Okay let's do this" 

He leapt and started to beat his powerful wings and it wasn't long before we high of the ground. I was not expecting it to feel so smooth I thought I would be able to feel every beat of his wings but I could hardly feel it at all. It was then I noticed the view which took my breath away.

" Wow do you always see the world this way?" I asked him through our link after a couple of minutes

" Yes now hold on" He sent back and I held on tighter and he flew up and did a loop which made us go upside down 

" Woah that was fun but scary where did you learn to do that" I asked

" Granger taught me of course" He sent back

" Why did I even ask" I said out loud

" I think we should head back now, don't want to wear you out on our first flight" I sent him

" Alright" he sent back and headed back towards the house

When we landed West was leaning against Granger outside the stable and it looked like he was watching us.

" How was your first flight?" He asked when jumped off Revlon

" Amazing" I said " Right Rev" he made a sound in agreement 

" Good for you both, next time invite me along and I will give you some tips" He said

" Okay will do" I said walking over and to give him a hug " Thanks bro"

" No problem sis" he said hugging me back

( Flashback Ended )

Mum has distanced herself from me which I had expected even though she seemed supportive at first. Whereas dad has been really supportive and has helped me with Revlon whether it be riding or by asking a million questions about dragons. Which brings us to right now making our way to Golden-Wings academy flying side by side on our dragons. 

It takes about two hours to get there and I have been spacing out the whole fight about what it's going to be like even though Rev told me everything was going to be fine over and over again. But I couldn't help but think about everything from will I make any friends to what was the food going to be like, I hope it's not disgusting.  I was brought back to reality when I heard dad yelling my name.

" Sara it's not far now" he said

" Okay" I said and took a deep breath to calm my nerves

After about 10 minutes Benedict started to descend with Revlon following behind and we landed in front of two big gates which had a sign that read Golden-Wings Academy above it. Dad waved a strange hand gesture to one of the guards who opened the gates and Benedict and Revlon moved inside and entered a beautiful courtyard where a massive building stood. I must have been admiring for too long because when I looked over to see dad's reaction he was already walking up to the building. Quickly sliding off Revlon I caught up to him who was waiting at the door and followed him inside.
