Another dream. Harry was getting worried now. This time, they'd done so much more. Draco and Harry were cuddling. On a date. They were at the movies, though realistically, Harry assumed Draco had no idea what a movie theatre was. And Draco's hand slipped from the armrest and onto Harry's thigh. Soon, it slipped up to Harry's belt. Then into his pants. Harry couldn't remember what movie they were supposed to be watching but, when he woke up, he realised he now had a problem. Two problems. Problem A: the dream. Problem B: he now needed clean sheets.
Lucky for him, the others were asleep. As he cleaned up his bed and himself, he tried to forget his dream but he really couldn't.
Why did it have to be Draco? They'd sort of fixed things since their little incident but.. now Harry got all hot and bothered around him. And now the dreams were coming back. God, this was a mess.
Once everything was cleaned up, he couldn't sleep. So he got dressed and went up to the owlery. Besides the smell, he actually loved the view you could get from there. And after everything.. he needed alone time. The sun was just starting to rise when he arrived and it was a cold, winter day. He tried to ignore the chill of the morning but it was hard. He just closed his eyes and decided to study.
Burying himself in his work was a lot easier than dealing with his problem at hand. He didn't want to have to think about why he was having these dreams about Draco. The first time he could excuse it was a weird dream. But twice? Something was happening.
Soon, he heard footsteps. Ah, speak of the devil. Today Draco looked tired, though maybe it was just because he wasn't a morning person. Draco sat down beside him.
"Is this why you always smell awful? Because you hang out here?" Draco teased. Harry rolled his eyes and looked at him.
"How'd you find me?"
"Weasley told me you sneaked off and I just took a wild guess.," he said before looking at Harry's books. "Holy crap. Is this... The Harry Potter? Studying? Why, call the press! This is never before seen footage!"
They both laughed at that. God, how could Harry ever like Draco like this? Did he even like Draco in that way? There had to be something.
"So," Harry said, deciding to test waters. "With Christmas coming up, are you ready to go home?"
Draco sighed. "I would rather die than go home.," he muttered. "But do I have a choice?"
"You could stay with Ron and I.," Harry offered. Draco gave him a quizzical look. "I mean, if you'd like. It's sort of fun.. though I bet a real family Christmas is Better than that."
Draco thought for a moment. Harry was worried he'd said the wrong thing but.. Draco grinned at him. "If Weasley is okay with it, I'll ask." He told him.
Ron would definitely not be okay with it. But, what could he do? They'd have to deal with each other. "Cool. I'll be sure to get you a present." Harry mumbled.
He, of course, had no way of getting Draco a present. And he didn't know what Draco could ever want. But, that's what you did on Christmas. You give people presents.
Draco got up and held out a hand to Harry, helping him up. "Let's get some food." He told him, leading him to the dining hall. There, they were starred at. Two sworn enemies, standing next to each other, actually talking. And they seemed content. But that quickly came to and end when they notice the surprise. Harry rushed to his own seat and Ron immediately bombarded him.
"What's up with you and Malfoy? First the library, then this!"
"The library? How'd you know about that?"
Ron and Hermione shared a glance before Hermione decided to share their little secret. It wasn't like they could hide it.
"Harry, we were worried. So we just... followed you one day. And we saw you and Draco.," she said hesitantly. "Studying together. And being all... close and friendly."
That's when Harry remember. The books falling over. That was them? He'd almost forgotten all about that but it made sense now that he'd thought of it. But his friends spying on him? That was weird.
"You guys were spying on me."
Ron looked sheepish. "I told Hermione it was a bad idea!" He argued and Hermione frowned.
"Just throw me under the bus then." She muttered.
Harry probably should've been mad. But he ended up laughing. Laughing at how ridiculous this was. His best friends were following him because they were worried. Everyone seemed worried about him lately. But he was just glad to have such good friends.
