Here's the thing; Harry's day wasn't supposed to end with him at the Malfoy Manor. It just sort of.. happened. That seemed to be the case often with Harry around.
He'd tried to go anywhere else. But he needed help. And.. well, here he was. He'd surprisingly climbed through the window- Breaking and Entering Muggle Style- and he waited for Draco. He had no one else to go to. Which is why he tried his best to compose himself while he waited. He still had to process what had really happened. And he wanted to snoop around Draco's room. It.. was pretty predictable for a Malfoy bedroom. Completely neat, no cool posters on the wall or anything. It almost looked like a hotel room. He wondered if this was Draco's doing or his father's.
Harry stopped snooping when he found nothing exciting and slumped into Draco's bed. He needed to get his story straight. After all, he could hardly believe what happened.
After everyone else had left, Harry found himself all alone at Hogwarts. He wasn't planning on going anywhere the whole winter break. He was stuck and bored. Which is how he found himself exploring. See, there was always some part of Hogwarts that was a secret to him. And he loved trying to figure out every part of Hogwarts. He found himself wandering the woods.. yes, the forbidden woods. The woods you... aren't supposed to wander in. Alone. Because you'll die. Yeah, that one. No one ever said Harry was a smart man.
So, Harry was taking a stroll. He'd defeated a giant Acromantula before and figured that was the worst of what the woods had. Of course, that was a naive mindset that was probably what lead him to getting completely ambushed. During his walk, he found a package on the ground. He picked it up, as would anyone else with a curious mind. It definitely didn't belong in the woods. He opened it, just to peek in. Why wouldn't he? Inside was a necklace He remembered it, oddly enough. It was the Opal Necklace. The gems surrounded by silver were still in his memory. But where did he know this from? And more importantly... Why the hell was it out here? He held onto it and continued his walk. He figured he could show Hermione after the break. She had to know what to do with it.
He still wasn't sure who it was that attacked him after that, but he knew it was a wizard. It was a person, not a scary beast. He was slammed into a tree, feeling the wind knocked out of him. Then the man forced him onto the ground and in a second he felt the weight of somebody over him and a knee pressed into his back. He gasped out but all he heard was a low tone. His head was spinning and the weight on his back was not helping him ground himself. "G-Get off me!" He panted out
"Move and I'll snap your bloody head off." A man snapped. So Harry stopped fighting. And that's when he felt his hands move over Harry's body, patting his pockets. Eventually, Harry saw the man pick up the fallen package, which looked a little rough for ware after their scuffle. Then he was released. "You're lucky I'm letting you live." A voice snarled.
He got up with a grunt and saw a man in a black cloak. He couldn't even see his face. Who the hell would do this to him? He had no clue what happened but, he was furious. Which is why he grabbed for his wand. Sure the necklace wasnt technically his but.. he wasn't planning on going down without a fight. Before he could even reach the wand in his back pocket, the man spoke and pointed his wand at Harry.
"Stupefy!" He shouted. There was a red light from the villain's wand and then Harry was frozen. Paralysis was definitely not part of Harry's holiday plans.
"Don't be an idiot." The man snarled. "Just go home and forget all about this." And then he was gone. And Harry was completely paralysed for what felt like a eternity. When he could finally move, he bolted out of the woods.
He had no clue what had just happened but he knew better than to stay the woods with whoever else was out there. Clearly someone was.
And now he was here. He went to the only place he could. He didn't want to stay at Hogwarts alone after that. What if the man came back? What if he did more than just take a stupid necklace?
Recounting the events only made him more paranoid and Harry practically jumped when he heard the bedroom door open. Draco stared at him in shock and Harry just stared back. Eventually, one of them had to talk though. Draco slowly shut the door behind him. "What.. are you doing in my house?" He asked. It was obvious choosing his words carefully. Harry just figured he was worried someone might hear him.
Harry had no choice but to tell Draco what happened. And, by the end of it, Harry was still rattled and Draco looked just as afraid. "You're sure it was that necklace? It wasn't a different one?" He specified, his eyes staring intently at Harry.
Harry worried for a moment that Draco might not believe him. But, clearly Draco believed him. Why else would he look so afraid?
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Why? Do you know what it is?" He asked curiously. And that's when he remembered where he'd seen it. It was in Borgin and Burkes. He remembered reading the warning, seeing that it will kill anyone it touched. He remembered who bought it too.
Draco clearly saw the reaction and looked away. "I haven't seen it since then, Harry. Please believe that much." He said, his voice quiet. And even though Harry had no reason to, he did believe Draco. The Draco he knew wouldn't do that stuff anymore. Which meant he wouldn't have done this. Though that only made him wonder who could've possibly attacked him in the woods.
"Okay." He said quietly. "What do we do now though?"
He figured Draco could come up with some plan, or anything.. but Draco didn't respond. He brought a hand to Harry's forehead, which was stained with his blood. Harry winced and Draco sighed. "You really do have a death wish, Potter." He muttered, though it wasn't in a mocking tone. He went into his bathroom and found a wash cloth and wet it. Then Draco returned and cleaned up Harry's face.
Harry didn't fight him, just wincing every once in awhile. The boy was too busy staring at Draco's face to fight him much anyways. He suddenly wished Draco had been there for every other injury. He was sure he could coax the blonde into kissing him. Which is exactly what he did. As soon as Draco caught his gaze, Harry leaned in and kissed his boyfriend. They stayed like that for quite awhile, but Draco pulled away as soon as he felt Harry's hand on his thigh.
"God, you're such a prat." Draco breathed out.
