Chase's POV

"Katie?" My head snaps to the sound of his voice.

"Ryder?" Katie asks

"Macy!?" Marshall says running to my childhood friend. What is she doing here?! Oh my pup.

"CADE?! JOSH!? I missed you guys so much!" I shout running over to them.

"KATIE! YOUR ALIVE!!!" Ryder and Katie run to each other. Katie jumps into Ryder's arms wrapping her legs and arms around him.

"Ryder! Chris told me you were dead!" Katie says into Ryder's neck. I look at my brother's.

"I haven't seen you in so long!" I say.

"Come back with us" Cade whispers.

"Come back with you?!" I whisper shout.

"No one has forgotten what you did all those years ago." Josh says.

"Why do you think I left!? Because I hate you guys!? No way. By not being loyal to you pups I was being loyal to my best friend. Why don't you understand that!?"

"Because you left us" Macy says walking over.

"You chose your best friend over your family, how do you think we feel." Josh raises his voice.

"Chase is my family" Marshall says.

"No he's not! He's our family! And he belongs with us!" Cade says.

"I DONT CARE WHAT ANY OF YOU SAY!! IM STAYING HERE WITH A FAMILY WHO ACTUALLY PAYS ATTENTION TO ME!!" I yell. Every one is silent, even Ryder and Katie.

"We'll pay extra attention to you if you would just come back home" Josh says.

"Oh shut up, Josh." Marshall says. It fells good to have Marshall again.

"Come on Marshall, let's get you to your real home." Macy says.

"Oh please! You think I'm going back there! Those were some of the worst years of my life! That's why Chase is my real family. He actually cares about how I fell. All you pups care about is who's the best! If your the fastest runner, the best hunter, if you look different. No one cares about pups like Chase and I. The normal, average, every day dog. You just wait, one day you'll be begging on your knees for me to come back and will DIE before I ever step foot in that place ever AGAIN!" Marshall shouts.

"I thought you changed, but you two still act like puppies." Cade says.

"JUST GET OUT" I snap. My leg twitches along with my brothers.

"Something's wrong" Josh says.

"Yeah, your still here after Chase made it very clear for you to leave." Marshall says. They step in the elevator. "Oh and Cade... take care of Macy for me."

"Good bye Marshall" Cade says. The doors close and he's gone. I fell a paw that makes me jump.

"Chase" She says.

"Yes, Skye" I say.

"Thank you. F-for staying that is." She says with a smile.

"I realized today that, I just don't love them the way I love you guys." I say so every one can hear. "I love them because I have to, their blood family. I love you all because I choose to and I never want to lose that."

"Awe. Chase, your so sweet." Skye says.

"Hey. Woah. I am not sweet."

Katie's POV

"So tell me every thing." We are sitting next to each other on the couch with a blanket on our laps and the dogs all sleeping. It is about 9:30 and it's very dark outside.

"Every thing?" He says.

"Yes, that is the word I used" I say with a smile.

"Umm... well, yesterday Rylee came up to me crying and when I asked her what was wrong she said I wouldn't want to know. When I finally got her to talk she said you were dead. She told me to running away to ease the pain and the gullible boy I am, I believed her. So I ran. I ran until I couldn't run than sank on my knees and cried. That's when Macy and Cade found me. What about you?"

"Chris came up to me with a sad face yesterday and told me you were dead so I asked how and he said a car accident. I came back here and pretty much cried with the pups all day."

"All day? Over me?"

"Yep" I say with a yawn. I rest my head on his shoulder and fall asleep.

I wake up in the bed I usually sleep in at his house and smile. Something about him makes me feel happy. My heart flutters when he shows that he cares about me.

I get out of bed and shuffle to the kitchen.

"Hi Katie." Ryder says.

"Are the dogs awake?" I ask yawning.

"No" he yawns too and we laugh. "You want to make pancakes?"

"Let's go on a walk" I say.

"Just you and I?"

"Is that okay?" I ask.

"Yeah, let's go." He says. We walk across the bridge and to the beach when I see it.

"Cade!" Ryder shouts. "What are you doing to that innocent pup!?"
