Ch.16 New Home?

Once the two were seated in the car, Jack pulled out his phone. "Yusei, I'm going to get ahold of my father to let him know what's going on."

Yusei nodded, taking his phone out as well. "I'm gonna call Yuko and tell her too."

Jack nodded. "Alright. Tell her not to go home, I'll send someone there later to get yours and Yuko's things for you."

"Okay..." Yusei replied, dialing his sister's number while Jack was calling his father.

When Yusei began to call Yuko, he held his phone up to his ear, waiting for her to answer. I wonder if she's even near her phone... Yusei wondered to himself.

"Yuko here!" A chipper voice answered moments.

"Hey, sis..."

Yuko paused. "I don't like that tone in your voice. What happened?"

"Do I really even need to say it?"

"Right, Dad, gotcha. I'm coming home now then."

"No, don't!" Yusei quickly cut in.

"What? Why not? You're not safe there by yourself and you know that just as well as I do, Yusei."

"Just don't, okay? I'm...I'm with Jack now. He said not to go home. We can pick you up if you want, or you can stay with your friends, it's up to you. Jack said he was gonna have someone come get our stuff too, so..."

"Wait, "get our stuff"? What do you mean?"

"Um, well...we're kinda gonna be...staying with Jack and his family now."

There was another pause. "Oh... Well, I'm certainly not complaining."

Yusei sighed in relief. "Like I said, someone will get our stuff later, so you don't have to worry about it for now."

"Alright. Well, I'll just stay with the girls tonight then and I can have Carly drop me off at Jack's tomorrow if she's able to or something."

"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Mm. Take care, bro."

"Yeah, you too." And with that, he ended the call, Yusei sighing.

Well, at least she'll be safe, so that's good... Yusei thought to himself, feeling a bit relieved.

Meanwhile, Jack dialed his father as the two drove off, heading for Jack's home. "Atlas Enterprises, how may I direct your call?" A woman on the other end answered.

"Mina, it's Jack. I need to speak with my father immediately." He said calmly, but it was pretty clear that this was urgent.

"Right away, Young Mr. Atlas. Just give me one moment while I transfer you over." The called then disconnected, but moments later, another voice answered.

"Mr. Atlas speaking."

"Dad, it's me."

"Oh? This is new. You never call me, unless..."

"I kinda have a situation right now."

His father paused. "...Meaning?"

"A...friend of mine and his sister have been living with an abusive father, so I came to get him, and his sister is staying with some friends at the moment, I believe."
