Ch.18 He Really Does Care...

"Jack, come on! We're gonna be late! The others are probably already waiting for us!" Yusei called impatiently.

Jack laughed. "Never thought I would see the day when you would be eager to leave, Yusei." He teased, exiting the room to see the raven waiting in the hall, his arms crossed while tapping his foot impatiently.

"Well, when I've got someone like you here by my side, I don't have any reason to be afraid." Yusei grinned, clinging onto Jack's arm.

The blonde chuckled, ruffling Yusei's hair. "Yes, very true. Now then, let's get going."

"'Bout time." Yusei teased, Jack rolling his eyes.

"Oh, I almost forgot, but will your sister be joining us as well?" Jack then asked.

"Yeah, but not till later. She left a while ago with Carly and Akiza, but she said she would meet us there since she loves clothes shopping."

"Alright, then I won't worry about it until we meet up with her." Jack said, Yusei nodding.

The two head down the stairs toward the front door, slipping on their boots while Jack grabbed his car keys. "Mother, Yusei and I are leaving! We'll be back later!" Jack called to his mother.

"Okay! Be safe, you two! Oh! And be sure to bundle up! It's gonna snow later today and I can't have my boys freezing out there!" Emi called back.

"Will do." Jack replied, the two grabbing their coats, some gloves, and scarves.

After putting everything on, the two head out the door to Jack's stunning white Dodge Charger. Once out into the chilly outdoors, they climbed into the car and took off, heading for their destination. It didn't take very long, with Yusei having to guide Jack around since he still wasn't very familiar with the area, but the two finally made it to where they were heading: The mall. After Jack parked the car, the two climbed out and went ahead inside, Jack actually a bit impressed with how big the mall actually was.

"Alright, so where to first?" Jack then asked.

"Hmm..." Yusei thought for a moment. "Well, Yuko texted me on the way here and said she wouldn't arrive for another thirty minutes or so. I guess we can go take a look around in the meantime."

"Sounds good. Shall we?" Jack held his arm out, Yusei nodding as he hooked his own arm around Jack's before they head off.

The two spent the next thirty minutes just exploring the mall, going into different stores to see what they had to offer. At one point, Yusei stumbled upon a store that was dedicated to auto parts, which caused his eyes to light up. He eagerly went inside the shop and was looking through all of the parts, trying to see what he could use or even try to create. Jack couldn't help but smile at Yusei's enthusiasm when it came to automotive stuff, signalling to him that he was clearly a gearhead, even if he never openly admit it. Yusei would constantly ask Jack if it was okay to get all the parts he found, and every single time, Jack said that it was fine, and even told him he didn't need to ask. Still though, given Yusei's nature, he didn't like to take advantage of someone, so he still asked regardless. Yusei just couldn't help but smile as he was looking through all the different parts, often mumbling about what he could do with them while Jack patiently waited. Once Yusei had picked out all the parts he wanted, Jack went ahead and paid, the two exiting the shop with Yusei holding a bag full of parts in his arms, smiling like a giddy child that had just gotten some candy or a new toy.

"There you guys are!" A voice had then suddenly called out to them.

"Huh?" Both turned to the source of the voice, only to see Yusei's sister waving at them with Carly and Akiza trailing behind her as well as Crow and Kalin.
