Years too..
They went on like an instance of just batting an eyelid. Of course, time flies I tell you..
Then came my eleventh Birthday..Yupp. The same sort of celebrations, 90's stereotypes and everything else which happened on my tenth birthday. Can't help keeping back these oldies' habits.Oh yeah! The only differences between all these birthdays was that they gifted me something new every Birthday. However , due to lack of money, they couldn't fetch me something costly but whatever they gave me was above all treasures in my eyes. This time, it was a beautifully handcrafted greeting card.
When you open it, a big blood-red heart popped out and on it was beautifully carved "Happiest of Birthdays Mii". My PaDavid was a calligrapher- an unbelievably brilliant handwriting he had. It looked like pearls protruding out from a sheet of paper.
Then came my 12th Birthday. This time, I decided to call upon some of my friends at home and yes. Finally my birthday did feel like a party.
Though my grannys were very old, one thing I can say with the utmost confidence. They had a modern outlook to everything and they were broad-minded people. They gave me my freedom, liberty and most importantly, my space.
I was allowed to go out with my friends, play with them and do whatever I wanted to. But, somehow, they were sort of strict with my homework from school.
Ahh! How bad it would get some days when even MaMalicia would tell me to complete that gross teacher's homework.
But once it was over, I felt like a bird out of a cage. All nice and free. This time, thankfully, I received many presents but this time too, My grannys won the contest.
They gifted me a beautiful watch which looked delicate and sophisticated. It had a soft purple leather band and a small and shiny dial. It looked stunning on my wrist. My friends, Huh. I was so freakin' glad. They were jealous of me once more. This was the second time I made them (particularly Stacy) jealous after my floral print dress.
My MaMalicia understood this feeling of mine and gave me a quick, sarcastic wink. PaDavid understood it a little later and he gave me a look which you give to the notorious sinners.
My friends were always very fascinated by my grannys. Though one thing always troubled me. I don't know why my friends always said that my grannys looked quite young. I mean they were 85 and all my friends said they looked like they were still in their early 70's. I found it weirdly strange.
