"Oh Mia! Please forgive us. Actually, we were playing a prank on you. We remember everything. You really don't need to thank us. We are all yours. We are like your parents. We will never judge you." So saying they gave my forehead a soft kiss and caressed it lovingly. "I Thank God for guardians like you." I smiled in my mind.
"Today we will go out on a picnic." MA and Pa decided. "There are pretty cool swings in the park nearby. It's a nice place for a picnic." Ma added. I was extremely happy about it but then, reality struck me hard. "Ma, I am afraid that I will see structures again. Please..." "husssh! Nothing will happen child. We are with you." It was probably the first time I felt so secure. I felt so nice.
I put on my off-white turtleneck sweatshirt and paired it with a pair of faded blue denims. Then I got into my joggers and we headed towards the park. We chatted and walked around merrily, and in no time we reached there. It seemed like quite a nice place but of course it was so damn clustered one could never find a place to sit. With the lunch boxes in our hands, we marched out towards the interior of the park which looked quite empty and peaceful. We sat near an old well which looked like it hadn't been used for many years. There was algae all around its boundaries. When you move your head, it was a sight of great beauty and awe. Green trees all around. Birds flying merrily. The scorching yet scintillating sun. Everything was just so beautiful about the place.
"It is really perfect for a picnic." I whispered. Ma smiled at me. We talked all day. We went on the swings. And of course, we clicked loads of photographs. Ma and Pa standing with their hands on each other's shoulders. Me randomly digging my forefinger into my very prominent cheek dimples. We had sort of learnt to pose well for some memorable clicks.
Then we put on our blindfolds and started playing. "Catch me if you can Mia" Ma's voice echoed inside my head. "C'mon Mia" Pa cried. Suddenly I started to feel dizzy. My head seemed to whirl and twist in an unknown state of mind. I fell to the ground with a thud. "Miaaaaaaaaa! I could see my grandparents running towards me and wailing for help, through my blurred vision.
