Chapter 24 Now is the Time

Hey guys! I'm back!

This is probably going to be the chapter you have all been looking forward to.

so, Recap.

Last time, we went through a lot with the gang. We learned that Buckbeak was sentenced to death. We had to calm down Hermione after an incident in Divination. Watched Hermione punch Malfoy, saw Hagrid, watched Buckbeak's execution. Found Sirius Black, learned the truth then had to go back through part of the day to change things we could.

So, without further adieu, lets get to it!

Your POV...

A few weeks pass and we are coming up on the end of the year. I've been a little anxious about this. I've been going over how I was going to ask Hermione to be my girlfriend and I can't settle on one. Right now, we are sitting in the Great Hall. Harry got a package and Ron had opened it, being curious. It was a brand new Firebolt broom stick. I see Harry come from the hall and Ron gives him an excuse for why he opened it already, but they are pretty bad.

Harry opens it for himself and smiles. "Who sent it?"

"No one knows." Ron says.

"This came with it." Hermione holds us a large feather.

I smile with her, knowing that it was more then likely from Sirius. Harry runs outside with it to take it for a spin. We watch has he flies off. I smile and laugh as he does. I look over to Hermione, who is standing next to me. She smiles at me and takes my hand. I feel something between our hands, so I look down to it. I take whatever it is and put it in my pocket for now. I'll look at it later. Harry lands back in front of us and we bombard him with questions.

I eventually head back to my room and change into some normal clothes. While I do, I take what Hermione gave me and look at it. It is a piece of paper. I open it and lay on my bed. A certain scent hits my nose. I sniff the paper and inspect it more. This smells like what a love potion smells like. I take another good whiff just to make sure. It is. It definitely is. I smile.

"You sneaky little girl." I mutter to myself.

I actually read what the small paper says and it says, 'Meet me in the Astronomy tower as soon as you can. - Hermione Granger.'

I jump up from my bed and sprint out of the dorm. I run past Harry on the way out.

"Where are you going?" He ask.

"Somewhere important!" I shout over my shoulder.

"Important?" He asks. "What's going on?" 

"It's just important. I'll catch you later!" I run out of the room.

I sprint as fast as I can to the Astronomy tower. I wasn't going to keep her waiting any longer. I don't even hesitate on not knowing what to say. I know exactly what to say. I make it to the top and find Hermione waiting there for me. I smile and start trying to catch my breath. She turns to me and smiles.

"Sorry." I say, taking deep breaths. "Sorry, I kept you waiting. I'm sorry I even waited this long." I step forward to her.

Hermione's face is a little red and I reach out and take both of her hands.

"Hermione. I have something I need to tell you. I've been meaning to tell you for a long time." I look into her eyes. 

"What is it?" She ask.

I look down at our hands for a second and summon what courage I need before looking back into those beautiful eyes.

"Hermione. Ever since first year, I've had the biggest crush on you. I held off on saying anything because I didn't know how you felt about me. After second year and this year, I think you feel the same about me. I've been pretty nervous about all of this." I look down for a second and chuckle lightly. I hear her giggle with me, filling my heart with joy. "'Mione, I've fallen for you so hard that I think I hit my head. What I'm trying to ask is. 'Mione, would you like to go out with me?"
