Just for my own personal sanity, the King in this book is not the same person as in "My Engineer". I like that one too much to make him an asshole.

Prem missed seeing Wad.

He was worried, he seemed to always be thinking about Wad these days. Even when Prem was with Bright and Knott to help Arthit finish the laps that Dear wanted them to do, he was thinking about Wad.

He hadn't seen Wad around in a few days and when he asked M about what had happened while he was leaving the gym but the only thing the junior could provide is the vague words that someone wanted to talk to Wad.

That, of course, made Prem even more worried.

He was thankful when Arthit sent him out to get food, even though he knew his friend was treating him a bit like a slave.

He was even more thankful when he ran into Kong and brushed his duties off onto the junior. Kongpob seemed more than willing to go see Arthit anyways, there was no reason why he shouldn't give the junior the liberty of seeing him.

It would give him more time to think anyway.

Why would he be so worried about Wad? Ever since the two of them met, it had been nothing but arguments, bitterness, and brick walls. They hated each other, it was so obvious.

Maybe....maybe he was worried about what might happen when Wad disappeared.

Making fun of Knott now seemed heartless. Bright and Tutah seemed to be off doing their own thing when they weren't at SOTUS so that was no fun. Arthit...well, Prem could never make fun of Arthit in the first place.

Arthit had a cold exterior that would make him seem like he would be fun to make fun of but his heart was small, tender, and he couldn't take jokes that insulted him very easily.

If Wad left, his life would become bleak, wouldn't it?

"I don't believe you guys."

Prem's head snapped up. Wad's voice made his heart skip.

"You're such sore losers," Wad snapped.

"We're not here because of the basketball game."

Wad's face grew pale for a moment before swelling red with rage. The group of boys that had cornered him threw the first punch and Wad retaliated.

Prem was quick to react.

If anyone was gonna beat up on Wad, it was gonna be him, dammit!

He jumped in front of Wad to protect the younger, whose head was aching too much for him to properly fight back. Prem got a few solid hits in before he too was starting to get overpowered.

There was only one thing going through his mind in that moment of chaos.

Wad.

Wad was already slumped on the ground.

Wad was already beaten up pretty badly.

Wad was already in pain.

Wad, Wad, Wad.

He had to protect him.

As he covered Wad's body with his own to shield the younger from the brutal attack, he could feel something in his heart that made something in his mind make sense.

Knott grew up on the wrong side of Bangkok, with poverty and rampant crime. Knott had fought a few kids back in high school and beat them pretty badly until Arthit got a handle on his friend their senior year.
