Deku's Point of View

Three days ago, Kachaan and I decided to take a break. Was I happy about it? No. Did I make the right decision? I don't know. Do I feel satisfied? I miss Kachaan. I sigh to myself as I make my way towards Gran Torino's place to get some more practice into controlling my power at more than twenty-five percent.

I approach the wide-open entrance to Gran Torino's place in silence. I peak my head into the room and notice Gran Tornio taking a nap on the floor with the crumbs and pieces of his fish cookies. I chuckle at the older man's habits before placing my bag and suitcase, for my costume, to the side. I sit in the small average table to relax my feet form the walk and to check to see if there were any messages. I smile to myself, thinking about Kachaan texting me but, as I turn on my phone, nothing appeared.

"Why are you slacking off?! Get back to work!" Gran Torino yells at me as he reaches out for his wooden cane to get himself up.

I jump off the table and rush over to my backpack to slip my phone inside before rushing over to Gran Torino, activating my quirk.

"Yes, sir!" I yell as I let the little percentage of my power travel throughout my entire body. I see a smirk appear to form on his lips, making him throw his cane to the side and position himself to jump around the ceiling and the walls.

Torino activates his quirk, jet: he can move freely in the air with jet propulsion using the air that comes out of the soles of his feet. Torino starts jumping from wall to wall, making me not be able to predict his moves. I analyze his every movement in the air before getting a clear shot.

I rush my way towards his couch to jump on top of it and flip in the air, making me land on his back. As I follow up on my plan, he changes his movements again, causing me to fall facewards on the ground. I grunt as I push myself up from the floor with a bloody nose. Tornio stands in front of me with a hmph.

"Stop predicting my moves and just fight me head-on!" Torino yells at me as he activates his quirk again.

I wipe away the droplets of blood coming down from my nose with my arm before forming smirk on my lips. I activate my quirk again and attack Torino head-on, just like my teacher said. If I can see another clear shot, I can move the twenty-five percent from my entire body to my fist and back into my body. YES! That's what I'll do—"

"Aren't you going to hit me?" Torino says, punching me in the face mid-air. I gasp from the impact, leaking some of my salivae from my mouth.

"Yes!" I yell at him while I turn around to face him. He widens his eyes when he sees my determined face. Tornio starts doing the same formation as he was doing before, but much faster.

I can't see any blind spots, putting me in a tight position. I start to propel myself through the air with my small jumps, pushing on the walls, following Torino's moves to try to catch up to him, but it was no use since his quirk is quicker than mine. I pant as I start to lose focus. Torino seems to notice my change in mood, causing him to turn off his quirk.

"Hey kid, is everything alright?" He asks me as he offers a hand to get up from the ground. I pant a severe amount of time after accepting his hand. We sit on his chairs from his small dining table to talk about me, I suppose.

"O-Of course! Just a little exhausted..." I say with an awkward laugh. Torino raises his brow at me before eyeing me.

"Exhausted from what? From yesterday's exercises? If that's the case, then you'll never have a full commitment—"

"No, no! It's not the exercises that are making me exhausted. It's something else," I say with a sigh. Torino gets up from his seat to walk over to the kitchen to fetch something.
