Deku's point of view
A week later
All Might, Gran Torino, and I were heading back to Musutafu from the interview of the pro hero, Hawks, also known as Keigo Tamaki. I'm super pumped about training with him in Yokohama. I knew It means I have to move for a month, or so, but It was worth it. It's worth it for my future.
"Young man, how do you feel?" All Might asked me with a smile.
"I'm so happy, excited, and ardent about training with Hawks! He's the youngest pro hero! How didn't I think of him when Gran Torino first mentioned him!?" I say with question and enthusiasm. The two older men look down at me with a smile and an eye roll.
"I'm glad to hear that. You start tomorrow, so I suggest you pack your things tonight to leave tomorrow around noon," Toshinori says to me as he walks closer to me. I nod and hope on the train with the other two.
Once hopping on the train, it hit me. I'm leaving Kachaan. I know he told me that he'd be right with whatever decision I make but, what about this one? I won't get to hang out in his dorm room for some part in the summer. I mean, we planned to have picnic and movie nights at his place in the summer, but that won't happen since I'm leaving Musutafu for a month. I sigh in defeat as I look out the window, watching the building disappear.
I threw my head on the headrest and closed my eyes to rest up before arriving at Musutafu.
Time-Lapse
It wasn't long before we arrived. We hopped off the train and walked into the train station, where we met up with president Nezu and Midnight. They escort us to the limo and take us back to the dorms for the school and me because the teachers need to discuss something important.
"Young Midoriya, is everything alright? You seem down," Toshinori asks me with a nudge. I look up at him with a fake smile.
"N-No, no! I'm wonderful. I'm just tired, that's all," I lie to All Might as I see his stern face convert into a happy face. He wraps his arm around me and pulls me closer to him.
"I sure hope so," Toshinori whispers into my ear. He backs away and expresses a broad smile. I smile back at him before hopping out of the vehicle to arrive at the gates.
We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I bunny hopped my way over to the building so that it wouldn't be a long walk. As I start to open the door, I was greeted by my classmates in the lobby, sitting on the green couches. I take off my red high tops and slip in some slippers.
"Midoriya! How was your interview in Yokohama?" Kaminari asks me. Everyone had puzzled faces with what Kaminair just asked me.
"It went great! Hawks is going to train me this summer—"
"Wait, Hawks?!" Mina asks me with a surprised look on her face. I nod my head as I approached the kitchen.
"No way! Really?! You are so lucky!" Mina says with defeat as she lays back on the couch with jealousy. I giggle at her actions as I grab a bottle of water out of the fridge.
"That so great, Midoriya! I'm happy for you!" Iida tells me with hand motions. I smile at him as I sit down on the couch, across from Kaminari and Sero holding hands.
"Have you told Bakugou yet?" Tsu asked me. I widen my eyes as I forgot to tell him I was leaving yesterday. I scratch the back of my head, and an awkward laugh escaped my lips.
"Well, not yet," I say with an awkward smile.
"WHAT?! HOW COME!?" Mina yells at me. I feel like he's going to burst my eardrums if she keeps yelling at me for no reason.
"Too much on my mind, I guess," I say as I lower my head down to stare at my feet.
"Hey, is everything good with you and Bakugou?" Todoroki asks me as he sits next to me with his arm around my shoulder. I don't respond. Instead, I nod my head in silence.
"Haven't told me what?" A voice asked behind me. I turn around and lock eyes with Kachaan.
"K-Kachaan!" I say as I get away from Todorki. Kachaan eyes Todoroki before looking back at me.
"Midoirya is going to Yokohama for the summer to train with Hawks!" Sero says with a smile. I turn away from Kachaan to look at Sero. He widens his eyes after realizing what he did before mouthing to me that he was sorry.
"What?" Kahcaan says with a severe tone of voice. Everyone in the lobby decides to scutter to their rooms and call it a night.
Suddenly, it was just Kachaan and me in the lobby. I gulp at his stern stare to then tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. Kachaan walks away from the couch to approach me. He stares into my eyes, from a two feet distance, with confusion.
"I-I've got the opportunity to train with Hawks In Yokohama. I went to Yokohama today to talk with him in person before signing the deal. I-I'm leaving tomorrow," I say to him, never looking away from his ruby-red eyes.
"Whatever," Kachaan says before walking away to head to his room. I growl and clench my hands into fists before reaching out to grab Kachaan's wrist to stop him from leaving.
"D-Don't leave, please," I begged him to stay. He stood in place, not moving a single limb. Kachaan then looks over his shoulder and stares at me.
"Go away," Kachaan says as he flicks his wrist out of my grip. I open my mouth ajar to let out a gasp as to see Bakugou walks away from me.
"Kachaan, hear me out—"
"I've heard enough," Kachaan interrupts me with a scoff. I pull my arm back to its place and look down at my feet. I know we are on a break, but you can at least be helpful to me.
I look up to see Kachaan far away in the distance. I sigh to myself as I wipe my tears away. I don't blame him. I didn't tell him I was going to Yokohama, let alone going there for a month. I should've talked to him about this—No, I shouldn't have! We are on a break, and I am free to make my own choices without having to go to someone first. I should go to bed.
I walk to the elevator and push the button to my floor. As the doors slowly close in front of me, I can't help but break down into tears. Even though my level was the second one, I slid down the elevator wall and curled up in a ball. Also, when the bell of the elevator rang, and the doors opened for me to exit, I stayed in place. I'm so stupid.
The elevator doors were going to close when someone stopped them from closing. I look up to see a familiar face sharing a concerned face as we locked eyes. Todoroki kneeled towards me to look eye to eye. He places his hand on my cheeks, using his thumb to caress it. His warm smile makes me want to cry into his shoulder and never let go.
"Come here," Those words were my trigger. I wrapped my arms around Todoroki's back, buried my head into his shoulder, and let the water and emotions pour out of me.
Todoroki starts whispering sweet nothings into my ear and petting my hair. I tighten the embrace once I thought about Kachaan not loving me anymore. Todoroki pulls away from means stand up, reaching out for my hand. Grab it with my left hand while my right hand wiped the tears away. He then took me to my room and tucked me in bed, just like my mom used to do.
"Good night, Midoriya," Todoroki says as he kisses my forehead. I smile at his kind gesture before rolling over on my side.
"Good night," I say to him before falling fast asleep in my clothes.
