Chapter 19

Louis POV

"RUN!! HE WILL CATCH US!!!!"

"STOP! YOU RASCALS!"

The kids laugh as they all run away from me, some going different directions around the cafe shop. Damn brats.
Today there was a children's event at the cafe shop for the children, hosted by Ms. Mallette. She's raising money for schools to help children in need which is why all this is happening. At first I thought, 'Great, we'll have younger customers in no time. It won't be so bad', but I was so wrong. These kids are animals.

"You..You better not break anything!..Oh god!" I whimpered, desperately trying to catch my breath with my hand over my chest as I lean over the counter.

"Man, these kids are going to kill me"

"What's wrong, Lou? Don't like children?" asked Danielle as she places a chocolate shake in front a little girl.

"No it's not that. It's just I can't keep up with the hyper ones. They're troublemakers! I have younger siblings and they weren't close to how these kids are acting"

I limp over to the back, grabbing a glass and filling it up with tap water. I exhale, wiping my forehead exhaustedly as Danielle turn over to me with an amused expression and her arms crossed over her chest.

"Well if you put a bouncy house, a face painting stand, petting zoo, and snack stands together in one place, how else do you expect children to react?"

"I don't know but they should at least behave!" I groaned, chugging down the water.

"Well maybe that's something you should teach Justin a thing or two when it comes to behaving"

"That's different, he's not a kid. Plus, I'm sure he mature enough"

"Oh really?"

She looks over my shoulder, pointing at a direction. I confusedly cocked an eyebrow as I turn around to see what she was pointing out. I look around until I finally see what was happening, proving myself wrong once more.
A few kids wearing paper crowns with light sabers run after Justin, which he also happened to be wearing a paper crown and had a lightsaber. He yelps, stopping at his tracks as he turns around and starts sword fighting with the lightsabers. The kids would charge him while laughing and chanting to defeat him.

"Oh yeah, he's definitely mature"

"Shh Dani..don't"

Danielle chuckles, walking past me as she walks outside to attend to some of the activities. I stood by the opened door frame, watching Justin as he played around with the kids. The smiles on their faces, all the joy he was giving them as they laugh along with his shenanigans. He ends up tumbling onto the ground, causing the kids to jump over him as they hit him with lightsabers or wrestle him. He smile widely, happiness over his face as he laughs amusingly.
I felt my heart flutter, feeling warmth as a small smirk begins to form on my face. It felt captivating to see how he brought glee and cheerful spirits out of everyone around him. For me to witness him bring so much joy, it makes me happy. I continued watching, embracing his smile and the sparkle in his bright hazel eyes. My heart was beating very fast..
