It was now sundown. Flamefur and Mintleaf were on their way to Highstones, fading in the distance.

The Clan took the news of Reedstar's death pretty hard, especially Dawnpool (his mate) and Featherdapple (his sister). They both had pressed together and gazed at the lifeless body.

"So my brother's becoming leader of ThunderClan."

Wavepelt whipped around to see Tussledstorm. She was almost surprised to see her. It had been moons since Tussledstorm had neven talked to her.

"...Hi," Wavepelt greeted uneasily. "Hey... I'm sorry... for all the... heroic stuff I did. I didn't know you felt that way."

Tussledstorm stared at the ground in silence for a few heartbeats. Then she looked up at Wavepelt. "I'm sorry too. I know you were just helping your Clan. I just wish I could have been like you. I... I wasn't thinking when I went all out on you. I was just overwhelmed."

"it's fine," Wavepelt nuzzled Tussledstorm. "Who knows, maybe we could go out to fight rogues sometime."

Tussledstorm's gaze flickered, but for less than a heartbeat. "Yeah, we could do that."

"So... are we friends again?" Wavepelt looked at Tussledstrome.

"...Yes. We are." Tussledstorm managed a small smile. "We're friends."

"Tussledstorm!" Greeneyes called. "Are you hungry?"

"Sure!" Tussledstorm called back. "See you, Wavepelt." Then she bounded off to Greeneyes.

That was awfully quick, Wavepelt thought. All of a sudden she was friends with Tussledstorm again. I feel like the conversation should have been longer...

"Are you busy?"

Speckledfur had come up beside her.

"No," Wavepelt replied. "Why?"

"Well... I wanted to talk to you," the spotted she-cat explained. "You see, I'm expecting kits."

"That's great!" Wavepelt purred. "But... why are you worried?"

"I'm not worried. I just wanted to let you know that Curlyfur doesn't hate me anymore."

"I know," Wavepelt said softly.

"I'm so glad I did," Speckledfur continued. "They're Barkstripe's kits. I just hope I don't mess this up."

"You won't," Wavepelt told her. "Don't worry."

"Thank you," Speckledfur mewed. "And by the way, I think Wheatwing wants to talk to you."

"She does?" How many cats want to talk to me?

"She's in the warriors den," Speckledfur told her.

"Okay." Wavepelt padded into the warriors den. Wheatwing was sitting in there, her eyes bright.

"You know I'm expecting kits, right?" she asked.

"Really?" Wavepelt grinned. "Congratulations! They're Silverfang's right?"

Wheatwing nodded. "Are you planning on having any?"

"I don't even have a mate yet!" Wavepelt protested. "Why do you keep pressing me?"

"Because you have a cat chasing you and you don't even know it!" Wheatwing exclaimed.

"Who?"

Wheatwing rolled her eyes. "Exactly. Flamefur, mouse-brain! Can't you see he's been mooning over you?"
