"Attack!" Waterfall yowled, and sprang onto Wavepelt.

Wavepelt struggled to fight back, matching Waterfall's blows. But I can't win this fight. She knew that she was already weak. Even if she had no wounds, Waterfall would probably still beat her.

She swiped Waterfall on the nose, and Waterfall shook his head, dazed. But he quickly recovered and attacked back.

Wavepelt desperately tried to escape his grasp. I can't fight you, Waterfall. You were my Clanmate!

She managed to wriggle free and spotted a dark spotted tom, whose darting around the camp, looking for someone to fight. He looks too small to be a full grown rogue...I can manage a pupil.

She leapt onto him, and he looked up, his eyes for battle.

"You're the prisoner!" he realized.

Nettle! Wavepelt recognized that voice.

"I was the prisoner." She clawed him on top of his head and dodged his blow. "Say, how did you find that black and grey tom over there?" Perhaps she could try to find out how exactly Waterfall found the rogues.

"I'm not giving anything away!" Nettle tried to swipe at Wavepelt's eyes, but Wavepelt dodged the attack. She bit Nettle's tail and pulled.

Nettle let out a screech of pain, but his eyes were still blazing. "I'm not giving up!"

You know, that could lead you to your death. Wavepelt continued attacking the pupil until he crumpled to the ground.

Taking in a sharp breath, Wavepelt checked to see if he was still alive. I hope I haven't killed him! She relaxed when she saw his chest rising and falling.

Suddenly, she herself felt very tired. Her eyelids felt very heavy and she closed them. She went limp and fell to the ground.

Wavepelt vaguely heard Bushpaw running up to her, calling her name.

"Just...tired..." she managed to say.

"You can't fight!" Bushpaw exclaimed. "You need to rest!"

"No!" Immediately Wavepelt felt stronger. "I'm not leaving you to fight all those lumps of crow-food."

"Is Waterfall a lump of crow-food?" Bushpaw wondered.

"He is if he refuses to rejoin ThunderClan," Wavepelt growled.

She saw the few rogues running toward her and she eagerly thrust herself into the battle.

She clawed a cream tabby and felt a another cat swiping at her. She spun around to meet another opponent and she nearly lost all her breath when the cream tabby leapt onto her. She felt drowned as all the rogues sprang onto her, attacking her.

Wavepelt started to feel tired again.

"No..." she murmured. "I have...to...fight..." Every word made her more exhausted.

She finally let loose all her muscles, and the cats climbed off her, thinking she was defeated. One of them leaned over to sniff her and, suddenly, Wavepelt lashed out a paw and swiped it on the neck. Surprised, the rogue backed away.

The let-loose trick works every time. But Wavepelt felt to tired to rejoice. She closed her eyes, too tired to resist.

"No!" she heard Bushpaw cry. The brown apprentice grabbed her scruff and dragged her away from the rogues.

Wavepelt opened her eyes halfway and saw a blurry image of Bushpaw defending her against the rogues.

One of the rogues is missing, Wavepelt thought. Waterfall's there, but that cream tabby isn't!
