"Also, long ago, Apollo's sandals were stolen right from under his nose! These golden sandals granted the wearer flight. They were hidden so far away, even Apollo, the god of music, truth, and prophecy, couldn't locate them! Some speculate that they were thrown in Lake Plastiras, some say they were hidden in the bright green, vibrant, lush, forests. The most preposterous notion of them all, is that they were hidden right near Mount Olympus itself, in a secret cave that nobody has ever located. Interesting, isn't it, students?"

With that last sentence from the teacher, the bell began to screech, as if it was in pain, and Jade Williams shot straight up from her desk and began to pack up her stuff. She wasn't particularly paying attention to the lecture. Her attention was focused on the writing on her hand. The blue ink from the quill shone in the candlelight, and it read "Dela." It was a shortened version of her idol's name. Delarose is the Goddess of the Earth, calm, beautiful and witty, blessed more upon saying, and an ancient underdog. Jade wanted to be called Dela from now on. She told everybody about her new nickname, but she was mocked. Jade is attending the "Demigod School For Teens," meaning she has a power of some sort. Her mom is mortal, and her dad died shortly after she was born. Jade has never been very talented with her power. While others were harnessing theirs and getting stronger, she was failing every test in Physical Education, and feeling bad for herself. Her power is called "Earth," and she can basically levitate rocks. Everyone makes fun of her for it because she can't use it well. Her body can't handle much, and the most she's levitated was a small rock, and this was when she was at her limit.

Buried in her thoughts, Jade, or Dela from now on, rubs her index finger over the palm of her hand. Suddenly, somebody creeps up behind her.

"Boo!" exclaimed Prae, Dela's best friend since kindergarten. Startled, Dela jumped out of her skin, and looked at Prae, bewildered.

"Oh my goodness! Prae, what was that all about? Can't you see I'm concentrating?" Dela cried.

"Come on, girl." Prae huffed . "You know if I didn't say anything you wouldn't have moved until after the next period was over! I'm so tired of you always with your head in the clouds, as though you're philosopher realizing a new way things could occur in your prophecy, and thinking aloud would expose your thoughts before you were done."

"More epic similes?" Dela smirked.

"Yup, practicing for my oral report. By the way, did you hear what the science teacher said in 4th period? There's an elixir that can be brewed that can heal any injury instantly, and I learned it!" Prae giggled. Dela just rolled her eyes at her random comment. "Come on bestie, lets go to Phys Ed." Prae laughed.

Dela rolled her eyes and sighed. "If I don't pass Phys Ed, the most important class in this school, I'm going to fail and never be like Delarose." She thought.

Without looking back, Prae and Dela waltzed to Phys Ed, laughing without a care in the world.

Walking inside the gym, Dela recoiled at the stench. It smelt like sweaty, old socks, moldy cheese, and chunky milk mixed all together in a gigantic blender, and when the user drank it, they would immediately double over and vomit. Dela's disgust swiftly turned into anxiety when she realized that today in Phys Ed, they were doing "power evaluation tests" to see how much your ability to use your power has improved.

"Welcome senior class! Today is the last day of school. Today we're doing the final semester test, and it makes up for 50% of your grade." Dela's P.E teacher exclaimed excitedly. She always enjoyed watching people using their powers, and she excitedly waited for the students to pour in. Promptly, the bell groaned, and people started lining up to begin the test. Dela has a lot of of time to wait. There were 26 people in her class, and she would be the last one to go due to her last name. Her anxiety grew as the first participant sashayed up to the middle of the gym.
