Dela put her hand up to her face and slowly tears began to drip from her eyes.

"Mom!" Dela wailed. She began to stumble towards the rubble. Upon rolling over medium sized pieces of debris, her knees began to buckle. She saw her mom's hand sticking out of the rubble. She moved some rocks a little with her power, but it's all she could do. She felt so weak, so helpless.

"Mama please! Say something!" Dela cried.

"D-Dela..." A muffled voice whispered. Dela picked up her pace, moving all the smaller rocks away from her mother. Finally, Dela has removed enough rock to see her mother's face. In that moment, amidst all the chaos, time went still. More tears welled up in her eyes as she heard her mother's dying wish.

"Please... never forget who you're meant to be... don't lose sight of who you are." her mother whispered, and with that she passed. In that moment Dela was paralyzed. Slowly, she opened her mouth and solemn words came out.

"I-I don't even know who I am in the first place..." she sniffed. Slowly, her sad words blossomed into a fit of bottled up rage unleashing for the first time. "I'm just a failure! I can't even control my power correctly! If I had, you wouldn't have died!" Dela wailed. "Mama, come back... please don't leave me.." She choked. Dela put her head down in the rubble and sobbed. She has no idea what to, or what was happening. All she could think about was how her mom was dead, right in front of her, and she couldn't save her. Slowly, Dela pressed her palms together and prayed to Delarose, the Goddess of Earth, blessed more upon saying, beautiful, calm and witty. She held her head low and let her thoughts consume her.

"Oh, mighty Delarose, I have prayed to you many times before, but they were always for trivial things. Oh! Tragedy has struck and it has taken my dear mother away to the underworld. Oh, great Delarose, beautiful, all knowing, blessed more upon words, please, oh please give me guidance and blessings to help me get through this arduous time."

A single tear dropped from her eye and slid down her cheek. She wiped it away and glanced at the heavens and closed her eyes.

"Hey Dela! Where did you run off to?" Prae came running into view at super speed. "Hey are you alright- oh my god..! Once she got close enough, Prae slowly stopped running and came to a sudden halt. She looked at Dela's mother's face and Dela's sobbing body. Prae slowly knelt down to Dela and gave her a tight, long embrace. All around them, terror and death was everywhere. More boulders continued to soar through the sky, but in this little, brief moment, there was peace.

Suddenly, a bright light shone through the clouds over Mount Olympus, and made its way towards the weeping pair. The light materializes into a beautiful woman, with brown curly hair and deep brown eyes. Dela slowly looked up at the woman, but didn't react. She was too numb to. Her mother was always her rock, she always believed in Dela, and never doubted her powers. Now, the fact that she couldn't use her power to lift the huge rock crushing the entire lower half of her mother's body was why she died.

"Jade Williams.. or should I say Dela." The woman began. "You have looked up to me your whole life, and I appreciate your prayers. I'm a fairly new goddess so not many mortals send their prayers to me and-"

"Wait" Prae interrupted."Are you.. Delarose?"

"You're a smart one, Prae. A little rude.. but smart. I have come to warn you both. The almighty Darlock, the ancient supergod, evil overlord, wicked beyond words, malevolent to all, has awoken from his thousand year slumber, and is fully prepared to destroy the world. His plan is to break up huge rocks and boulders and use them to create even bigger boulders. Soon he'll create a huge super meteor, big enough to destroy the whole world if directed towards the planet. He captured all of the gods that reside upon Mount Olympus, and since I am a mere spirit, I cannot do anything about it. After Darlock destroys Earth, he'll destroy the solar system and then soon, the universe, just to be a true supreme leader. I overheard some of his idiotic minions talking about how smart he is.. but honestly it's a plan that's been told before. One was odd, however, for us wore a pair of shiny shoes. Although I'm happy you're alive, you guys must get to safety somewhere. This is the most dangerous spot you can be at right now, so please-"

"D-Delarose..?" Dela mumbled, slowly raising her head up. "Is that really you..?"

"Yes..." Delarose sighed. "Although I'm happy you're responsive, you need to flee. This town will be reduced to ruin by tomorrow."

"No... I'm not going to run away.. or be the coward I always was." Dela exclaimed. "It's because I never truly pushed myself to really master my power that I never learned how to properly use it. I didn't even try to lift the boulder today during my P.E exam.. all because I was too afraid of failure. Never again! I'll never be a coward again!" Dela cried.

Delarose looked down at the dust covered girl. "What are you saying..? You'd rather stay here and perish? There's a thin line between bravery and foolishness, Dela." She said.

Dela glances up at the goddess and shook her head. "No.. I-I want to stop him. I know how. Just tell me what to do."

Taken aback, Delarose gasps in surprise. "Are you sure? This is a very grueling quest you're proposing."

Dela has a determined look on her face. "I'm sure."

Delarose looks down and nods. She holds out her palms and materialized a paper scroll. "Take this map. It will be all you'll need to defeat Darlock."

Dela nodded, and took the scroll from Delarose's slender fingers. Soon after, she began to disappear and before she was completely gone, she said two words.

"Good luck."

With that, Delarose materialized into the atmosphere.
