Dela slowly rose from her position. Her legs ached and her eyes were sore, but just then she promised herself in her mind that she wouldn't moan, groan or complain about anything until she stops Darlock. That means not thinking about her mother, but she couldn't even save her mother. "How could I save the entire world?" She thought. "I can barely lift up a pebble, how do I expect-"
"Dela..?" Prae muttered.
Dela suddenly came out of her thoughts and nodded at Prae. Even though they didn't speak, she knew what she meant. "We need to depart." Dela sighed. Prae just solemnly nodded.
Upon further inspection, the map seemed to have one long path. It started in the village and ended back at Mount Olympus. It was only one way, so no shortcuts. Dela and Prae studied the map intently, and once they understood where they had to go, they set out. The first village they had to go through was the Lillith village, and it was about 50 kilometers from where they were, a 50 minute walk.
Dela sighed in frustration as she realized how far they'd have to walk. They didn't have any food or water, and their only source would be the village coming up. Dela looked at Prae to deliver the news but Prae had an impish expression.
"Oh god, she has an idea." Dela thought. "That look scares me Prae, please stop." Dela giggles.
"Well atleast I got you to smile. Guess what Dela?" Prae exclaimed, without waiting for an answer, she continued. "I can just speed run to the village. It'll take about 10 minutes instead of 50." Prae giggles.
Dela smirks. Inside, she's extremely upset, and she wants to fall over and weep, but right now, she'll do anything to not have Prae worry over her. "Wow Prae, I love how you quickly thought of a plan for yourself, but last time I checked, I can't go at supersonic speeds."
"Well," Prae starts, "You could hop on my back!"
Taken aback, Dela gasps. "No way! I'm way too heavy for you to carry!"
Slightly irritated, Prae pouts. "Are you doubting my ability to carry a heavy weight? Just because I don't have a strength power doesn't mean I can't lift your heavy behind!" Prae retorts.
"Come on, I'm not that heavy- hey!" Before Dela could finish her sentence, Prae hoisted Dela on her back.
"Would you look at that. That was easy." Prae exclaims. Embarrassed, Dela stayed silent. "Alright let's go then! Off to Lillith." Prae says. Then, she was off, running with the wind. Dela has never experienced her super speed, so she was very shocked, but soon, they were at the village gates. Surprisingly, the village was calm, a stark contrast from her disaster struck village. Looking at the sky however, she knew that this village was next. The sky was dark and gray, with deep, ominous clouds rolling over the horizon. They had to be swift. The map stated to see the village fitness instructor, who will give Dela a quick training session.
"Prae, lets go. We don't have much time. Darlock is making his way towards this village. We must go to the trainer and then warn the village of the danger. Darlock is throwing rocks down from atop of Mount Olympus, and he's moving this direction." Prae looks at her and nods.
As they make their way into the village, they realize the village is bustling. They are blissfully unaware of the impending doom that resides in the clouds above. Soon, rocks will crush every single building in this tiny village and many will perish. Prae and Dela dashes around the village, looking at signs on shops, buildings, and small huts.
"Infirmary, General Store, Botanist... There's no trainer! Is this a dead end?" Prae exclaims in frustration. "I've had enough of this! It's hot out here and I'm so thirsty I could literally die."
"Let's ask around. I'm sure someone knows where it is, okay?" Dela reassures. Prae just pouts and nods silently. Dela and Prae look around for someone who doesn't look busy. Everyone seems to be bustling around. Soon Dela sees a young man leaning against a wall. "Excuse me sir..?" Dela starts. "Do you know where the trainer is? We need his help."
The man slowly looks up from his feet. Suddenly, he looks a lot younger than he seemed before. From a glance he looks around 25, but now he looks just about Dela and Prae's age. "You're lookin at him. What do you want from me?" He answered angrily.
"Woah, woah, woah." Prae started. "Who do you think you're speaking to? I really don't like your attitude, sir."
"Excuse me? You're the one who wants my help. I've never seen you girls before, and frankly you seem like trouble. So do yourself a favor and get out my face." The man retorted.
"G-guys.." Dela mumbled.
"I look like trouble?" Prae yelled. "You're the one who was leaning up against the wall and looking mysterious! You look more like a shady character than we do, so lose the attitude before I knock you out!"
"C-come on guys. Stop fighting.." Dela mumbled a little louder. Villagers were starting to notice the commotion, and some stopped what they were doing and began to stare.
"You're the one who began speaking to me! I've had just about enough of your disrespectful attitude!" The man retorted.
"Maybe if your personality wasn't so abrasive-" Prae began.
"You know nothing about me! Nothing! So don't speak to me as though you-" The man screamed.
"Stop it! Stop! We are running out of time! You guys are doing nothing but bringing me down, and frankly I don't need you here if you are!" Dela screeched. Both of them stopped bickering and looked at her. The man looked quite frightened and Prae looked hurt.
"I-I have a couple drachmas.." Prae mumbled. "I'm going to buy some supplies." After that, she walked off into a shop. Dela sighed and held her head in her hand.
The man looked at her with pity. "Hey.. I'm really sorry about my outburst. It's not a great first impression but I'm having a really bad week, so let's start again." He began. "My name is Kato. I'm 19 and I worked for a training business before it got shut down today. What's your name?"
Dela looked up, startled by his sudden change in attitude. "I-I'm Dela. Pleased to meet you." She replied. "I'm 18 and I'm traveling from the city of Icarus. I need a quick training session."
"I see.. but as I just told you, I don't have my training dojo any longer." Kato responded.
"Oh." Dela replied, saddened. She looked at her shoes and felt lost. She didn't know what to do now.
Noticing her sudden sadness, Kato Jumped up. "Don't fret. We can train in the field north of here. It's not far. What do you say?"
Dela looked up, overjoyed. "Are you sure?" She exclaimed excitedly.
Kato grinned. "Yeah, of course. I'll show you the way."
Dela nodded and began to follow Kato, but suddenly she stopped. "I-I should go tell Prae-" Dela began. "But she'll certainly freak out. She already had a huge argument with you, and she's kinda upset right now. Also, I don't have much time. I have about 20 minutes at most, so I can't waste time searching for her." Dela pondered to herself.
"What was that, Dela?" Kato responded.
"N-nothing" Dela stuttered. "Let's go."
