The day went by in a blur. It was basically introductions and the teachers telling us the rules of the class so it was a fairly easy day. I'm most excited for AP Chemistry!
Yeah because that is the class Adam is taking with you.
No, that's not true, well maybe a little.
Honestly I am excited for it because I have always been in love with science. Ever since my seventh birthday when the first gift I opened was the game Operation. From then on my fascination with science grew and it was shortly after that when I realized I wanted to become a doctor. Obviously I know the game Operation pales in comparison to an actual one but you know everyone has to start somewhere!
Walking out of the school building is easily my favorite part of the day. I am finally free. I have the entire weekend to recuperate.
Tomorrow is a new day, maybe it won't be as bad. Besides it is gorgeous out today. The warm breeze hits my cheeks as I step out into the court yard. In this moment I feel okay, almost happy, maybe it's because I know I am one more day closer to graduation. Maybe because it is Friday!
Just as I start to feel somewhat okay, I feel a hand on the back of my arm. Yep, there goes the little pinch of peace I had found.
"Emma Jane, I am so happy to have caught up with you." It is Steve. He ran his hand through his beautiful bleach blonde hair.
"Oh, where are my manners, how are you Emma, I hope I am not bothering you." His smile is warm and almost genuine. Almost. I know something has to be up but I just can't figure it out. There has to be a reason for why he is being so nice to me right now. Come on Emma Jane just think.
"It's okay, you aren't bothering me. I am just on my way home." I say as we turn the corner to the back of the school. This can't be a good idea, why won't he leave, damn it, just leave already!
"Oh, this will only take a moment of your time. I was just wondering if you were coming to the party for Jace. I know you two share a birthday and all but the party is actually tomorrow. I know that this is super last minute but we all really want you there." I stopped immediately as did he. He smiled again.
Gee, this one he's definitely something. Just look at that smile.
He probably noticed I was distracted because he lightly touched my nose with the tip of his finger. Which made me feel strange, he acted as if he always does this sort of thing to me. He has yet to make fun of anything about me. Maybe I was wrong about him. I used to think he was worse then the other two put together but he may actually be the nicest. His warm smile and hazel eyes complement his tanned skin. This is bizarre.
"Oh, I dont think so, thank you for the invitation. I just don't think it would be the best idea to intrude on his party like that I wouldn't want to ruin his birthday." I answered looking into his mesmerizing eyes. A girl could really get lost in them. Damn.
Suddenly, his smile dropped and was replaced by a off-putting smirk. His entire demeanor changed. His warmth suddenly turned to ice and my heart beat elevated.
"But, hunny, you wouldn't be intruding at all. After all, you are the entertainment." He reached into his bag, pulling out a familiar small green journal. No. This is not happening.
I looked in my back pack to discover my journal was no where to be found. This only confirmed my biggest fear. Steve had my journal. Shit.
"Give that back, Steve. That is not yours. Please, Steve give it back." I stepped towards him and reached for it.
"You should really be more careful with your property, I mean just imagine what could have happened if this fell into the wrong hands. I mean really Emma Jane how could you be so careless with a book full of such pertinent information." He laughed as he put the journal over his head. Him almost having a foot on me did not help the situation. Why is he so tall.
