"Leila, what are you doing this weekend?" Alec leans over in his seat and whispers to me.
I try to ignore him and continue chewing the end of my pen cap while gazing at James as he laughs at a corny joke he just made about the study guide. No one else seems to find it funny, and he quickly changes the subject.
God he is such a cutie, I wish he was mine.
"There's a huge party at our frat. We're trying to get as many girls to come." He whispers again and I sigh before turning to him.
"Why, so you can lie to your friends and tell them we slept together again?" I snap.
He chuckles and shakes his head. "I never said that, although I wouldn't mind if we did." He smirks and I scoff.
"Leila and Alec, is there something you'd like to share with the rest of the class?" Anderson speaks up and everyone's heads turn to the two of us. James is staring right at me with his jaw clenched and arms crossed against his chest. I don't dare say anything. He looks damn fine when he's angry if you ask me.
"I mean sure, Anderson. If the rest of you beautiful girls wanna stop by at our party this Friday at Delta psi I can assure you-you'll have a good time." He winks and a bunch of girls giggle and blush at his words but I couldn't be more grossed out.
James clears his throat clearly annoyed at Alec's snarky behavior and I seem to share that same annoyance.
"Alright, let's get back on track. Since Alec here thinks the upcoming test is a joke, then I'll move it to this Friday instead." He says and the whole glass groans. I can't help but laugh and Alec's smirk finally disappears.
"What a fucking prude." He mumbles under his breath and I hold myself back from telling him to go shove it.
It seems like forever until class is finally over. Everyone rushes out as usual, everyone except for me. I walk up that same podium as James takes a sip of water and smiles at me.
"Sorry if I disrespected you in any way." I apologize innocently and he shakes his head.
"That's quite alright, I don't believe it was you who intended to disrupt my class rather than Alec." He says and I nod while holding my books close to my chest.
"I was wondering if I could meet with you in your office again. I have some things I'd like to ask you about." I say as he wraps up his things. Ever since last time I've prepared. I've written down precise topics that I can ask him about without sounding stupid, and to also be able to spend more time with him.
"Of course, Leila. My next period is free but I hope you don't mind if I eat my lunch while we discuss?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No that's totally fine, Professor." I bite my lip when he smiles at me and we walk down the same hallway again.
Once we sit down he takes out a container of Tupperware while I pull up a chair next to him just like before. I open my books and just as we begin to discuss, my stomach growls loud enough for him to hear. He looks over to me and chuckles while I blush in embarrassment.
"Would you like some?" He offers his food which looks pretty appetizing.
"No that's okay. I really shouldn't."
"Don't worry, I should've asked you as soon as we sit down. It is past three after all and you must be hungry." He says and my heart warms at how caring he is. He takes out a plastic plate and fork from a cabinet in his office before taking some shrimp fried rice out for me. I gladly take a bite and moan at the taste. He watches me carefully before swallowing.
"This is amazing," I tell him.
"I cooked it myself." He says and my mouth parts a bit in shock.
"Well, professor you should've became a chef instead of a teacher then." I exclaim and he laughs. The sound is practically music to my ears. A polite man who can cook? At this point, I'm beyond infatuated with every detail about him.
"That's very kind of you Leila." He grins. "You know my wife actually believes men shouldn't cook because it's a woman's job." He chuckles and I laugh along acting like I care.
So he is married.
Doesn't make me less interested in him. His wife is a bitch that doesn't deserve what she has.
We get back to the books and I manage to get some more answers out of him about his life here and there. He has his masters in psychology but originally wanted to be in a band which was very short lived. His wife Julia was his high school sweetheart that he ended up marrying. He has no kids and loves teaching, because it gives him the opportunity to meet new people.
The whole time we've been talking I've been indirectly flirting with him. Batting my lashes, leaning forward, touching his arm. I'm not an idiot and I know this isn't one-sided. I've caught him eyeing my chest, leaning in, and staring at my lips. The simple fact that he's discussing his life rather than teaching me proves it even further.
All I know is one way or another I'll have him wrapped around my finger very soon.
