I awake to see Mina standing over me with a bucket of water."I'm awake I'm awake!"She pours it on top of me anyways, the cold water dripping off my chin."I said I was awake! Why'd you do that?!"Everytime I moved a chill went down my spine.Mina chuckles and gives a slight smile"I couldn't waste the water ya know and I didn't want to walk all the way down and out to the dock to pour it out"Wait.....where did she get the water?"where did you get the water?"She smiles hinting that I didn't want to know."the lake"I gag,ugh fish pee water."Gross Mina! You know fish pee and poop in that water!Ugh gross your so immature!"She crosses her arms"says the one that refuses to drink water from wells because it's got 'fish pee' in it.The waters not dirty your just weird and think it is."She walks away"meet me at the gates in one hour"I reach over the bed and grab the scroll.I put it safely on my back and walk out the room.I pause before slowly trekking done the old stairs, with each step I grit my teeth harder expecting it to drop from beneath me.When I finally make it to the floor below I proceed to exit the Inn when I see something interesting.A man sits at the bar with a crossbow on his back, his uniform is the same as the ones who were outside the cave where we were locked away with the elder scroll.I look away hoping he won't turn around but it's too late I could feel his eyes burning through the back of my head.I could hear heavy footsteps and the clinking of heavy armor getting louder.A loud voice booms and echoes through the silent Inn"Hey you what's that?"he motions with his eyes to the scroll on my back.I knew coming here was a mistake,I never wanted to come here.Mina should've known they would stop here at the nearest town. What do I do?Ive never good under pressure,Mina's always the one who gets us out of things."I-I'm sorry are you t-t-talking to me"I swallowed hard, gritting my teeth to keep them from clattering.I talked quietly so he can't hear my voice shaking with every syllable that comes off my tongue. He could easily take me down, especially in a town and in daylight.I'm completely defenseless."yes I'm talking to you"I hesitate before answering.Sweat pouring down my face,I looked bad.Whatever he is assuming by my reaction I look pretty guilty. He takes a step closer to me,the crowd watches intently."Oh uh........well you see I was in a dremer ruin and I found this I'm going to take it to......."I trail off trying to find a good answer."I'm taking it to a scholar in...Whiterhold"I smile nervously and I can feel my head throbbing. My lungs so tight I can barely breath."then why are you so nervous kid?"I take a deep breathe. Its ok he doesn't know,he doesn't know.Calm down, calm down."Your very intimidating sir"I really wanted to get out of there as quick as possible."thank you young man,now run along I'm sure you need to be going on your way to Winterhold then"He makes a motion with his hand for me to simply 'shoo'.I turn around and run out the door. How could Mina leave me alone like this? She knows I'm not good with persuading people.I make my way towards the town square where the shops are.And as usual nothing really interests me.......some Iron armor here and there, silver necklaces and rings.A few food stands with bread and cheese.Maybe even a potion and ingredient stand. All of them yelling about reason why to buy their shitty stuff they call valued items and that you can only get it here at the best price. You can clean out a bandit camp and get the same shit that's on display at their stands. If you want ingredients....go outside and pick them your damn self they're everywhere in Skyrim if you just fucking look.It really infuriates me when people waste their money on that shit, you can find it for free it you just get your lazy ass and go outside the gates.Trust me you will find it and better yet it's for free.

After an hour of exploring I meet Mina at the gate as instructed. She was leaning against a pole holding a balcony up."Well I'm here"I say as I walk towards her.She looks up slowly"oh I didn't expect you on time.Didnt enjoy Riften as much as I thought you would"I look at the gate"eh I never really cared for it"I decided it was best not to mention the man at the Inn,it didn't matter anyway.
We walk though the gate and outside the walls of Riften.A long journey awaited us.The bright sun shines in my eyes. The bright sky illuminating the world, the beautiful canvas that we call home. All the creatures running free without a care in the world. Some of us just don't fit in this world.Including my kind,we are outcasts and can't live among mortals and expect them to except our being. Now the mortals are more concerned with the return of the dragons and the war between the storm cloaks and the imperials. The only ones concentrated on us is the Dawnguard.Which everyone has forgotten about for centuries. It makes it easier for us to hide in plain sight. The only thing that bothers me is how those men happened to be in the open. What happened while we were gone?Did the holds finally start supporting them?Has word reached so far that they have recruits from all over the world? If that is true then I fear this will be the last time I can be in the same city as mortals.I wish we could be there is too much bad blood between us,too much blood to clean. It would take centuries just for them to get past all the vampire attacks. But we aren't them,we are different but they don't care about how we feel. They don't even consider that we might be human just like them.My eyes start to water,I quickly wipe them.No.....no tears your stronger than this. They don't matter, what they think is not important. What they think will not get you home any faster.I repeat it in my head over and over.
Why?Why are we abandoned like this?To forever hide and run from them.
