(y/n)'s Pov
You sat on your bed, carefully folding your clothes and making sure they were packed snuggly in your bag, you were leaving tomorrow at dawn and you had to make sure you had everything well packed.
A knock sounded at the door and you sighed knowing fully well who it was, "Come in, Legolas." The door softly creaked as the said elf came into view, he swiftly moved and sat at the foot of your bed.
"I have finished packing when a thought occured to me, what if we stay for a bit more longer?" He gave you a cheeky grin.
"Legolas that is absurd, they wouldn't have just called us like that for nothing, it must be urgent and so should we." You said in disbelief, you get that he wanted to get closer to you but his father called for him.
"As a prince you have to put your kingdom first, you know that. That is the cost of our crowns." You explained briefly, finishing up your packing.
You then turned to him with a grim expression, "I'm sorry Legolas, but as much as I lo—" you cut yourself of, shaking your head, "As much as I'd want to stay a bit more longer, the kingdom needs us."
He took your hand in his, making you look up at him, "When it comes to you nothing else matters to me.." He whispered, your heart fluttered at this and you sighed.
"Please Legolas.." You spoke softly, tearing your gaze away from him. He heaved a sigh and gave in, nodding numbly, "We leave at dawn.." He then got up, and still holding your hand, he turned to your figure and kissed your forehead tenderly.
Your cheeks reddened and you smiled warmly at the sign of affection, he left the room with an adorable smirk and you sighed in bliss, although you told him you were not really ready he had told you he would wait an eternity.
Your heart melted at that.
You put away your bags and laid down, a hand draped across your stomach and the other on the mattress above your head.
You didn't know what to do anymore, at one end you wanted a life where you and Legolas were happily together, and on the other end you knew you'd be faced with more challenges.
A sigh escaped your parted lips and you hummed, feeling your tense muscles relax, your eyes fluttering close.
The bed felt soft under your touch as you made yourself more comfortable, covering yourself with the blanket and blowing out the candle, you let out a small yawn and felt yourself caving in for sleep.

You awoke to Legolas shaking your shoulders, you sat up groggily and rubbed the remaining sleep off your eyes, "Good morning.." You mumbled out, stifling a yawn.
Legolas smiled at you, "It is time to depart. I have packed food just incase you get hungry." He informed, and you nodded, still a bit dazed.
He left the room stating that he needed to check everything and you made yourself ready, taking a quick bath and dressing in your traveling clothes.
Once you both were ready, you and Legolas made your way to the palace once more, "I never would have thought we'd be back so soon." you admitted.
You turned to Legolas with a soft smile, "It's for the better though, isn't it? We are needed, we can't brush them off." Legolas nodded at this.
"As much as I loved staying I guess you're right. Although I wouldn't have minded at least a few more days." He chuckled, you reached over to him and hit his arm playfully.
"We'll get back.. I hope.." You shook your head, "I'll get to talk to Elbereth again, and maybe play with Alma and all the other little elleths at the village." You smiled at the thought, remembering the little girl you had met many moons ago.
Your head perked up as Legolas coughed to gain your attention, you turned to him and laughed, "What on middle earth are you doing?" you asked between giggles.
He was standing on top of his horse expertly, holding out a flower to you with a grin, your horses were still moving and you had to admit, you were a bit impressed.
"(y/n), ‘Law lîn síla sui Ithi—.(Your radiance shines like the moo—.)" He cut himself off as a branch hit the back of his head, making him loose balance and fall of his horse.
Which of course only made you laugh harder, he then casually got back on his horse and held out the flower to you(which only had three petals clinging on). "Nin lithiach Legolas, Le hannon.(You enchant me Legolas, Thank you.)"
You gave him your signature smile and he gave you a proud one, happy that he made you laugh so much. There was an ill feeling in your gut, but you pushed it away without a thought.
Trouble was yet to come.
