My New Life

Chapter 9

It was easier telling Hunter everything than it was, telling anybody else. I told him every single detail. We sat there talking for two hours!

''Thank you Hunter'', I said giving him a hug. ''What for?'' he asked, I smiled and gave him a kiss on his cheek, ''For being here and listening to me''. He tucked my hair behind my ear, '' Your welcome beautiful''.

He started leaning in, 10 inches, 9 inches, 8 inches, 7 inches, 6 inches, 5 inches, 4 inches, 3 inches, 2 inches, 1 inch...

''Maggie! Are you home!''

It was dad! I quickly got of Hunters lap and ran to the door. ''Hey dad! how was work?'' I asked him the first thing that came into my mind. ''Work was good, and I have a surprise for you!'' he said, holding up an envelope and waving it in my face. I glare at him and snatch the envelope from him.

I tore it open and out slipped to concert tickets to ZEDD's performance in New York. I jumped into dads arms and kissed him on the cheek, "Thank you sooooo much dad!'' I screamed into his ear. He smiled and ruffled my hair, ''How could I forget my daughters favourite DJ that she had been talking about for the past two years?''. Warmth spread inside me, he remembered. He makes these small gestures and comments that tell me in an indirect way that he loves me.

''Edward!!!'' I heard Hunters voice behind me, ''It's so good to see you!''

''You too Hunter, how are you?'' dad asked. ''I'm fine, never been better actually''.

''We're a million lonely people. All together on this needle in the sky. Afraid of heights, and your dreams were made illegal. By the laws of lesser evil we call life. But not tonight!'' A ring tone blared from hunters pocket. he quickly took his phone out of his pocket and put it to his ear, ''Anna?''

''HUNTER JACKSON WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!!?'' I heard Anna scream through the phone. ''I'm in Maggie's house'' he answered in a cool and calm voice. ''You're in Maggie's house, okay... WAIT YOUR IN MAGGIE'S HOUSE??!!''

''Yes I am Anna, what wrong about that?'' Hunter asked her. ''Nothing, nothing! Mom is going to kill you if you don't come soon, I called to warn you''. Hunter jumped up, ''Sh*t!'' he quickly took his keys out of his pocket, kissed me on the cheek and ran out of the door, ''Bye Maggie, Edward see you later!''

Dad wriggled his eyebrows in a teasing way, ''You like him huh?'' I blushed as red as a tomato, ''Nothin happened!'' I argued, slapped dad's arm and headed to my room.

I looked into the mirror in the bathroom, do I like him?

As I was making dinner my phone started ringing, ''Hi Anna!'' I said putting the phone to my ear, ''What was Hunter doing in your house?'' she screamed. I explained the whole thing to her, how I was waiting in the parking lot for them and Hunter offered to take me home and then it started to rain and blah blah blah, but I left out the part of the almost kiss.

''Maggie, can you please tell me why I get a feeling that there is something your leaving out and you don't want to tell me''. I face palmed my self, there was no point in hiding something from Anna, cause she would end up finding out anyways.

''We almost kissed''

There was silence on the other side of the phone, "Hello? Anna?"

''YOU ALMOST KISSED???????!!!!!!!!!!! TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!''

I swear my eardrum was about to burst!

I switched of the stove and explained the whole thing to her.

After dinner I started working on one of the projects that I got in school on the computer. when I was half way through a Skype call came in from mom. I clicked answer.

"Maggie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss you!!!!"

Cara was sitting on mums' lap and screaming trying to hug me through the screen. "Hey baby girl", mom said blowing me a flying kiss, "I've missed you, I'm sorry I didn't call I had to set up the house and the company is going through a hard time!". I wiped a tear of my face, "it's alright mom."

Cara and I talked and talked for the longest time. "okay Cara, it's time to sleep you've talked long enough", mom said after some time. "But mom!!! I don't have any one to talk to! not even Georgia, she's in New York now!"

"Wait, Maggie you're in New York, did you see Anna and Hunt?" Cara asked. "yes I have", I answered, "they actually go to my school". Cara's face dropped, "then I want to go to New York!" she started thrashing around. Mom looked at me in the eye and then, cut the call.

I didn't call back, and continued on my project

Just before I went to sleep a text came in:

'Goodnight Beautiful ;)'
