chapter four || close to you
___________________she scurried the halls of the crowded airport, her rolling suitcase following closely behind her. she took deep breaths as she escaped the overflowing building. she waited in the line for a taxi, which wasn't long of a wait, but any more waiting would have made her gone crazy. she requested to be taken to the hotel that she had previously booked for just the night as she assumed she'd be staying with him for the rest of her stay but she had to stay away for a night due to her tickets for the show being the next night. going through the process of checking in felt like what was forever.
once arriving in her room she flopped face down into the soft pillows of the pure white bed and fell asleep in a short period of time. the comfy bed felt like heaven after the tiring ride here. she encased herself in the large sheets as she dreamt sweet dreams of her love, him. sweet and loving memories went through her mind as she slept, making her think happy thoughts.
she took her unpacked bags down the escalator as she checked out nearly as quick as she checked in, this gave her a slight sense of fear and anxiety, knowing time was going by this quickly she began to feel jitters and bumps under her skin.
she sat outside the starbucks, sipping contently her coffee as she kept her laptop open with her creative files where she spent her spare time. although she was doing what she enjoyed she couldn't help but go off-track every couple of minutes thinking about and seeing him so soon. her suitcase sat beside her, carrying multiple belongings of his and s,all gifts she had either made or gotten him as an exciting surprise as though she wasn't enough.
the time had now come to go to the theatre he was performing at, to say she was scared was an understatement. she had previously received a back-stage pass by one of his very close friends which she was very grateful for. once she arrived she was given directions to get to the back door over the phone which was very complicated due to the other line be only quiet whispering to make sure he hadn't heard. at the door she was let in, which lead to her sneaking in very quietly and dropping her suitcase in one of the storage rooms before leaving to then enter the auditorium at the main entrance. she was given tickets in the front row and that he would probably see her before she wanted him to. this thought caused her to suddenly panic,
'what if he didn't want her there?'
'what if he has a negative reaction to her?'
all terrible thoughts flooded to her mind as she was shown in her seat but as she tried to escape the main lights went down. screams flooded the room as a voiceover began and you could barely hear anything over the sound.
she was relaxed. as soon as she saw him enter that stage she was calm. she was excited to see him, sure, but just seeing him and knowing he was there made her feel calm. she watched as he over exaggerated his movements and made often contact and 'breaking the fourth wall' with the audience and it filled her heart with joy as she watched him do what he loves. she stared in awe at how much effort and love had been put in his performance.
she was happy,
and so was he.
