"ANNABEL !" Dean shouted in the corridor as he kept running.

She had disappeared. In the blink of an eye, Dean had not been able to keep up with the girl and now she was nowhere to be seen. He kept searching around the castle for the girl he found out to be Joy for half an hour but he gave up and walked back to his friends.

As he sat next to Seamus, his friends were surprisingly silent. Dean looked over at Hermione and Ginny who shared a similar sad expression on their faces.

"You knew all this time ?" Dean asked quietly.

"No. She kept it secret for over a year. I surprised her with the letters you sent her one day and that's how I found out." Hermione admitted.

Dean sighed, pushing away his plate filled with food he knew he wouldn't eat.

"Don't feel bad, I—I mean, you kind of broke her the day you were supposed to meet," Hermione said, noticing the boy gulp as she brought back the memory of this specific night. "It was a misunderstanding, that's all."

"I'm such an idiot." Dean breathed out.

"I'm sure you guys can fix this," Seamus finally said. "I mean, you need to talk, that's the only way."

Dean nodded as he kept an eye on the Great Hall's entrance, hoping to see her show up.

But, of course, she didn't.

Instead, she had locked herself in the girl's bathroom, knowing nobody would come here to find her. But Moaning Myrtle did.

Annabel sat near a sink, feeling a little weird as she recalled it being the entrance for the Chamber of Secrets a few years back. She breathed out slowly, ignoring the loud pounding in her chest.

However she didn't see the ghost coming right at her and let a scream escape her lips, causing Moaning Myrtle to laugh viciously.

"Well, well, I didn't expect company today," Myrtle said. "I never really do anyway."

"Hi, Myrtle."

"Mmh, not in the mood to chat, I see."

Annabel bit her lip, trying to ignore Myrtle's gaze but the ghost kept coming closer, forcing her to move out of the way.

"Not really, Myrtle, no."

"Why ?" Myrtle asked, exaggerating. "Did that boy break your heart when he saw your face ?"

"What boy ?" Annabel wondered, confused.

There was no way Myrtle could know about Dean, she was always wandering alone in this bathroom and nothing ever happened in this place.

"I know what you're thinking. Well, I actually can go somewhere else than here. I know about this Dean boy."

Annabel rolled her eyes, "Whatever, who cares."

And just like that she started walking towards the door when Myrtle appeared in front of her, startling her once more.

"Come on, Myrtle !" Annabel let out, frustrated.

"No one's ever liked me, Annabel. But if I've spied on you enough, you two are supposed to be friends—"

"Best friends, actually," Annabel interrupted, as Myrtle clenched her teeth.

She hated being interrupted.

"Best friends, right. Well, it might turn out okay, you just need to be upfront and stop hiding like you've been doing for a year and a half."

And Moaning Myrtle vanished, leaving the brunette alone and totally confused.
