Hunter:
I set up a game of Chess on the floor.
"You're welcome to play with me." I looked up to Luc. He had his eyes closed.
Oh well. I moved a pawn up two spaces anyway.
"I have a half day at school today. Did you have those at your old school?" I asked as I stood up.
Luc didn't answer.
"Ah. Oh well. I'll see you in a few of hours." I said.
I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I pushed my hair out of my face. Maybe instead of my normal red, I'll dye it deep red. Seems like a good idea.
"Hey Rachel. Wanna dye my hair?" I called as I walked out of the bathroom.
"Sure. When?" She asked as she joined me in the hallway.
"As soon as I get the dye." I answered.
"Ok." She responded.
Us older kids would walk to our school, while Mrs. Carte would drive the younger ones to their school.
She suddenly gasped, "We can twin!!"
"Huh?" I questioned.
"I've always wanted to dye my hair! Let's do it together!" She was all excited.
"Okay okay." I mumbled.
"Come on! We should go after school." Rachel exclaimed.
I nodded my head.
Once we got into school we branched off. "See you later!"
At lunch, I sat with Rachel and my friend Clarke.
"What's wrong with your natural red?" Clarke asked. He was the "voice of reason" of the group.
"Nothing. I just...you know...wanna switch it up." I responded lowly.
"It'll come out! Eventually." I added.
Clarke blew air. "Oh come on! It'll be fine." I said giddy. I playfully shook his shoulders.
"Hey. You wanna watch Rachel dye my hair? I'll probably dye her's afterwards." I said to Luc after entering the room.
His damp hair shook and his face had fear written all over it. A tear rolled down his cheek.
"What's wrong?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Okay." I said dejectedly. I couldn't tell if I scared him, or if it was something else. Maybe a combination of both.
I looked down. The Chess board was untouched.
"Well, I'm gonna go." I told him.
I went upstairs; the girls are on the third floor, us guys are on the second.
I entered Rachel and Lexa's room.
"Hey Hunter." Lexa greeted.
I waved at her. "Okay you ready?" I asked Rachel.
Rachel nodded.
Ugh. My ass is numb. I was heading downstairs to go wash my hair.
After that I went to go dye Rachel's hair.
"Has Luc said anything else?" Rachel asked while I was working.
"No." I answered.
"He is more reactant though." I added.
"He'll shake his head only." I said.
"I guess that's improvement." Rachel said.
I silently agreed.
