"So how long have you and Indra been dating?" Mari asked me.

"About a year." Without counting our little break.

We sat on my bed. Mari laid on her stomach close to the foot of the bed. I sat on my pillows.

"How did you guys meet?" She asked.

"At a lake." I said simply.

Mari nodded with a small "oh."

The next night we were sitting on the bed talking again.

"I need to get a job soon. Pull my weight." Mari said.

"Hm?" I asked.

"Well I had to quit my other job when Jason and I got caught." She explained.

"Oh, right." I said lowly.

"I wonder if I should get a job." I pondered. "Can I even work?"

"You say that because of your eye?" Mari asked. I nodded.

"Maybe you'd do better in an easy-going job. Like a library." She suggested.

"Maybe."

When we were done Mari got up to leave.

"You know, you don't have to sleep on the couch everynight. You can sleep in here with me." I said.

Mari thought about it. "Fine."

She turned off the lights and slid into the bed.

At like, midnight, my boyfriend instincts kicked in and woke me up. Indra's coming.

I sat up quickly. The bed shifting made Mari shoot up.

"What?" She asked half asleep.

I stared at my window. Indra's hand was on the glass.

"Ohh." I whimpered. What do I do?

Indra's head popped up and Mari screamed. He gasped and dropped from the window.

"What?" I asked acting oblivious.

"I just saw someone at your window!" She said.

"I didn't see anyone." I lied.

"What- you were looking right at it!" She said.

"We should get your Dad." She started to leave the bed.

"Mari." I grabbed her wrist. She stopped and turned to me.

"You're half-asleep. Your mind is playing tricks on you." I said.

I could see her looking at me skeptically.

She sighed lazily, "fine."

She laid back down and pulled the covers up and went back to sleep. I sighed with relief.

The LED light on my phone flashed.

I took my phone and opened it close to my chest. It was Indra.

He sent me a link. I clicked on it and it showed me the video of Lady Gaga screaming "what the fuck."

Guess he's starting to understand that you can use pictures and videos for reactions when words aren't enough.

"Sorryyy😣😣" I texted back.

"❤." He sent.

That was the end. I laid down with a sigh. "Shit that was close." I thought.

Once Easter came around the family was back in town. We were having a backyard dinner. Of course, I begged for Indra to come. Well, not begged. I just asked once and Mom and Brian said yes.
