If you had told me my freshman year I'd have a boyfriend and a stable home, I would have said "you have the wrong Luc."
I walked away from Indra and Evie.
"Luc! Hey, stop!" Indra called as I went down the steps. I glanced at him quickly and walked faster.
He and Evie came down the stairs quickly.
"Now you hang on just a second Indra!" Evie said. "You just left him wounded in the hospital to fend for himself. You abandoned him!"
"Why?" She asked him.
God. I wish they'd shut up!
"Oh you know exactly why!" Indra hissed.
"Nuh-uh!" Evie said as I pivoted. The two froze.
Indra looked at me. "Luc listen, I-"
"No, you listen!" I snapped. "I had my stomach sliced open and put back together and you took off! You didn't tell me anything! You just left me all alone! I could've used some support from my boyfriend!"
"I know." Indra said.
"Oh you do, do you?" I mocked.
"I listened to your voicemails." He lowered his head. "I..."
"You what?" I questioned.
"I..." He said.
I took a step back.
"Save it Indra. I don't want to hear any excuses." I turned around and started walking to class.
I snapped another pencil and threw it to the field. This is what I've been reduced to; breaking pencils in a field.
I hate him. I hate him so much!
"Luc." I turned around.
"Go away Indra." I growled.
"I will not."
Again with the stubborness.
I threw my hands up. "Why not?"
"I want to explain. Please, let me." He pleaded.
I rolled my eye. Just an excuse. Let him flop.
"Fine."
"Why did you leave me?" I asked.
Indra's expression softened and he took a step towards me.
"You're just a human...you break, you get sick, you die easily. I didn't want to lose you..." He said. I scoffed. I can't believe him.
"So I left." He took a step closer, "but then I remembered...you're one of the most resilient humans I've ever met."
He reached his arm out to me. "Luc I'm sorry. I got so scared that day and made a fatal mistake: leaving you."
"But I'm going to fix it."
I clenched my teeth together and grabbed his wrist.
"You can't do that..." My voice shook. I hunched over and stepped closer to him.
"You can't do that..." I repeated.
"Luc." Indra called quietly.
"You can't just do that!" I flipped out.
"You can't do that to me!" I hit his chest several times before breaking down crying. "You can't just leave me!"
"Luc-"
"You can't leave me!" I shrieked at him.
He grabbed my wrist and pressed it to my chest, stopping me from hitting him.
