12. Lay: Falling for my bestfriend?

I've been bestfriends with Lay since we were like...4 or 5? not so sure.. I'll always sit on the swing while Lay pushes the swing to make we swing higher and whenever i'm hurt he will always say "Don't worry, i'm the healing unicorn" and treats my wound. Now here i am, growing older every year which sucks. But Lay grew to a fine gentleman, so i never regreted. Apparently it's Lay's birthday today and he wants to have dinner along with his 11 best friends and of course....me. I go through every shops to buy a gift for Lay and i finally found a stuffed unicorn. PERFECT. I paid for it and put it in a box. I sticked a note on it saying:

I hope that this note will eventually tell him i how i really feel about him. I look at the time to see that it's 7.30 at night, well dinner starts at 9 so...I went straight home and doze off. After that, i took a quick shower, wore on my t-shirt, a pair of skinmy jeans along with my converse.I took the present and drove to the restaurant. As i reached there, i noticed that the restaurant is right next to the playground me and Lay used to play in. I got off my car, i walked in to see Lay, "(y/n)" he called with open arms and i hugged him,"Happy birthday, XingXing", i said and he chuckles, pulling away from the hug, "As you know this is the members" Lay said pointing at 11 guys, "mm-hmm" i nodded. A girl approaches to Lay, she is very beautiful, Lay starts to put his hands on her waist. No!! that can't be i thought "Oh (y/n)-yah, this is Cynthia" he said, and never told me he is bringing....his girlfriend or whoever she is, CALM DOWN. "Hey (y/n), Lay told me alot about you" Cynthia said and i let out a fake laugh,"Hehe, oh really?"i smiled or fake smiled. I was extremely jealous and now i can't hold back my damn tears, "Well, let's eat dinner then" Lay said and walks beside Cynthia. Suddenly i lost my appetite, i feel like.....running away. My eyes get teary and i ran to the playground as fast as i could. No turning back. I sat on the bench, and realize, "Maybe i should've told him 5 years ago" i wipe my tears away and looked at the sky....I am still holding on to Lay's present

Lay's POV

I don't hear foot steps behind me, i look behind me....she's gone. GONE and i'm freaking out,"What's wrong" is she blind? can't she see (y/n) is not there? the love of my life, my bestfriend,"(y/n) is not here" i said, panically. "Lay hyung!" i turn to see Kai calling after me,"Hyung, (y/n) is at the playground" Kai continued and without hesitation, i ran there. I kept calling her name but she never replies. And i finally found her, sitting on the bench we used to sit during childhood times, i sat next to her and she looks at the  sky,"Hey" i said, she looks at me and then looks down,"Hey" she said in a sad tone. "Hey...what's wrong?" i asked,"It's just that- Do you prefer to be with me or Cynthia" i was confused,"What are you talking about?" i asked and she looks away, "Nothing" she said in the same tone, "Is this about Cynthia? She is my cousin for goodness sake" i said

YOUR POV

she is my cousin for goodness sake, i paused for awhile, they're cousins?! Man, he should've have told me earlier. I cried for nothing, "Why didn't you--" i was cut off by Lay laughing,"Even if i had to choose between you and Cynthia, i'd choose you" I stared at him for awhile,"I love you,(y/n) and i want to spent my whole life with you"he continued and leaned closer to kiss me. "Oh, i forgot" i gave him the present, he starts shaking the present,

"What is it?"

"Just open it!"

he opens it to see a stuffed unicorn and he smiles at me, "A Unicorn!!" Lay smiled showing his dimples, "You'll always be my healing unicorn" I said, "I love it, thank you" Lay said giving me a peck on the lips and then we went back to dinner hand in hand
