In Another Life

I'm mostly being inspired by the quote from after Rosa came out and Gina said "In another life, w e wouldve made a hot ass couple."

It's one of my favourite quotes from the show.

So this chapter is the beginning of Dianetti. Yay.

Gina's point of view:

I am amazing at everything. I'm Gina Linetti, bitch.

But one thing that I'm extra amazing at is reading people. My gossip always comes straight from the source because I can tell just by looking at people.

It's extra powerful when you know people really well. So, for Rosa, Jake, Amy, and Boyle I can pretty much flawlessly read their minds.

Jake is the easiest to read. To me at least. It might just because I've known him forever. I'm pretty sure our moms were in the same prenatal class. That doesnt really matter because neither of our moms are around much anymore.

Charles is next. Charles' emotions are very easy to read and he's a terrible liar. When he falls for someone, he falls hard and goes all out. It's actually kind of sad. Right now he's in love with the French exchange student, Genevieve, who came here to study food. Shes perfect for that sad mess.

Amy is slightly less readable. She can be super happy at times and super depressed at times. But, about half of the time she just lives in a neutral state. Not as neutral as Rosa (or our principal, he's basically emotionless)  but just not emotional.

Rosa is very hard to read if you dont know her. But after being her bestie for 8 years, I've figured out her tells for different emotions. Her eyebrows naturally sit higher when she's angry, her posture is better when she's happy, etc.

I've recently picked up on a new emotional state coming from Rosa. She has a crush on someone.

The emotion is stronger when she's just with our group, so I'm going to assume it's someone within our gang.

She doesn't seem like the type of girl who would like Charles, so that leaves only Jake. When that clicked in my brain I was very sorry for Rosa, but at the same time I was (and I still am) very confused.

As mentioned earlier, Jake is an open book to me. He clearly has a huge crush on Amy. And she obviously likes him back. They're just too self-conscious to think that other would care about them in more than a platonic way.

MID SEPTEMBER. SHAW'S CAFE AFTER SCHOOL.

Today we all walked over to Shaw's as we always do. Except for that one day Amy didn't come over last week.

I overheard Jake and Amy's conversation that day. She said she didnt feel like coming over. She obviously didnt want to come because it's heartbreaking for her to be around Jake when she thinks he doesn't like her back.

Then Jake said something I found really stupid. Something like "I've known you since we were five, I know when something's wrong with you." If he really knew her, he'd know what was wrong, and they'd be together already.

For these last two years I've been rooting for them, since Jake got a crush on her. And I was very excited when I came back from Hawaii to learn that Amy had a crush on him, too. Then I wasnt so happy  because both of them just sat there acting like three was nothing in between them.

But now there's the whole thing where Rosa (probably) likes Jake. I would have to comfort her, while acting like I didn't know about the crush until she told me.

Today I'm gonna work on fixing it. I'm going to talk to Rosa separately from the rest of them, and demolish her crush (and probably her positive emotions, too.)
