I somehow manage to make it through homeroom and first period without falling asleep. I don't know how I managed it, but I don't think it will happen again. However in second period, math, during a lecture on how I'm going to use math in real life I blink and temporarilly forget how to open my eyes. I am only saved from detention by a girl I assume to be in the pack judging from the look she gave me.
I am drifting in and out of consciousness as I walk into the caffeteria, Sky flanking me and occasionally stopping me from face-planting it. She's holding up better than me and I suspect that it is due to the lack of painkillers in her system.
"Where do you want to sit?" she asks me, pronouncing her words very clearly.
I shrug in response, on the one hand I need to get closer to the pack but I still have my brother and his friends to think about.
"Do you want to sit with your brother? Or would you rather find a table on its own?"
"Uh, on our own is probably best given Jay will ask why I'm acting drunk," I say, trying to think through the haze of sleeplessness that clouds my mind.
My mate nods and tows me toward a table on its own in a deserted corner of the room.
The table is metal and has definitely seen far better days.
"Hi Jimmy!" I greet the table, gaining an odd look from Sky.
"Devi, that's a table,"
"He can be whatever he wants to be! Don't listen to her Jimmy!" I exclaim, somewhere in the back of my mind I realise that I must sound high, "I think I took too many painkillers."
"I think you did, now sit down and eat your food," Sky chimes, looking protective.
I obey and place my tray of gunk on Jimmy, "I'm tired," I state.
"I know you are, and so am I, but we just have to get through today and then we can sleep all we want," she says as she folds herself into the small metal chair.
"I'm sorry I made you stay up untill 5 in the mooorrningg," I drawl groggily.
"It wasn't your fault, now shush and eat,"

I am sitting in fourth period art with Sky when the room starts to spin. I am in the middle of watercolouring an image of a pack of wolves as my eyesight blurs and a wave of dizziness washes over me causing me to grasp the edge of the desk in a desperate attempt to hold onto reality.
"Devi? What's wrong? Are you alright?" Sky whispers, looking extremely worried.
"I'm fine, just dizzy as fuck," I lie, hoping to calm her.
She doesn't look convinced, "Mrs Frost? Devi's not feeling well, can we be excused so I can take her to the nurse?" she calls to the teacher.
"Of course, my dears," the art teacher replies happily.
Sky lets me lean on her all the way to the nurses office on the other side of the school. The office itself is small and bland, with pale blue paint on the walls and navy coloured furniture. Of course there is also the usual medical stuff: beds on wheels, sheets hanging from the ceiling, you get the drift.
The nurse is a tall woman with honey blonde hair, welcoming brown eyes and a slight build. She looks up from the wide white desk that she sits behind as we stumble in.
"What happens to be the problem, dears?" she asks in a quiet voice.
"We were in the middle of art class and she got dizzy all of a sudden," Sky explains, helping the nurse to sit me down on one of the beds.
"Hmm... How do you feel at the moment?" she asks me.
"Dizzy, tired... my head hurts a bit, too," I say, not bothering to lie.
The nurse maintains a quizzical look for a moment then says, "and I suppose your back hurts too?"
I sweat for a moment, wondering how on earth she knows about last night when my mate informs me that "she's a werewolf," and "not to worry."
I nod slowly to show my understanding.
"How much medication have you taken today?"
"Uh, like, four tablets?" I reply.
"I suspected as much, you have what's called a mixture of not getting enough sleep, taking more pain meds than is required and getting whipped last night," the nurse smiles, "I recomend sleep and water,"
"Okay," I mutter.
"I'll send an email to your teachers excusing you from the rest of your classes and you can stay here if you want,"
"Yes please,"
"Alright, now, Ms Jones, back to class with you," the nurse orders teasingly.
"Yes, Nurse Mathews," Sky groans as she turns to give me a small smile, "see you this afternoon?"
"Yeah... You know where to find me,"
My mate laughs as she strides out of the office, her long blonde hair swishing in time with her steps.
"Now, Ms Summers, just try and get some rest, I'll be here if you need anything," Nurse Mathews informs me.
I lie back against the cool fabric, feeling my eyes close shut imediately.
