Chapter 25

Jason's POV

The whole school had heard of the party this Saturday. Everyone has been talking about it. If you haven't heard of it by now, something is wrong.

  Even though everyone is looking forward to having fun, there is one problem.

  Luke is the one throwing it.

  Taking that little detail to mind, Percy has decided not to go. Luke and Percy being enemies being one of many reasons why he chose not to.

  He overheard Piper and Annabeth talking about going, and was understandably bummed. But he told me to go and chase after Piper. 'You never know what might happen if you take the chance.'

  Seeing Piper with Ash, on multiple occasions, has seriously messed me up. I know that she has never been mine, but I still feel extremely protective of her.  I just don't like Ash. It's not like he's a bad guy, I just don't like him because he's dating Piper.

  The thought of seeing them together at the party is killing me. And the sad part, they look perfect together. Ash with his sandy blond hair and blue eyes, Piper with her gorgeous kaleidoscope eyes and choppy brown hair.

I can just see it now, piper inviting me to her wedding while I still haven't found my soulmate. Her kissing Ash and smiling. Her forgetting me...

It is bound to happen. Piper will be happy with Ash and she'll forget about me. The one thing that keeps me up at night. Piper will forget about me at some point.

Bringing myself out of my depressing thoughts, I head out of my house. I walk toward my car and head to the best diner in town.

It's owned by Percy's mom's friend, Georgia. Sally worked with her for a while before they both found other places to work.

I walk in and I'm greeted by the smell of hamburgers and milkshakes. I spot my friends and sit down on the end of the booth.

Frank, Leo, and Percy all look at me worriedly. "Have you slept in the past few days?" Percy asks.

"Yeah, not much though. Why? Is it showing?" I rest my head on my hand and close my eyes for a second.

"Dude, you're about to fall asleep right now. There are bags under your eyes, your pale, of course it shows!" Leo smacks my cheek a few times to wake me up.

  "Thanks, Leo, but that was unnecessary. Really, I'm fine guys," I shake my head and laugh.

  "If it makes you feel better, I haven't been able to sleep much either. I'd like to say Annabeth didn't have this effect on me, but I would be lying," Percy says, looking out the window.

  "Jason, Percy, you guys need sleep. This is unhealthy and I'm sure Piper and Annabeth will not like zombies as future boyfriends," Franks adds.

  Percy and I both groan. I think we both know the spot that we are in. Piper is dating Ash and as for Annabeth, I don't really know but she's not going to be dating Percy for a while. I actually think that she thinks he's more of a brother. BROTHER-ZONED! A zone so deep into the friend-zone, you can never crawl out.

  I laugh as Percy looks at me, practically reading my mind. He groans and smacks his head on the table.

  The door opens and Annabeth, Piper, Hazel, And Calypso wall in. They look around the room and spot us in our lonely booth in the corner. They walk over to us and look at Percy and I weirdly.
