CHAPTER TWELVE
now you will never get rid of me

𝐑aegan felt like jumping off the nearest cliff when she woke up with a very harsh headache and the need to vomit her guts out. Other than that, she was totally brilliant. Today was the day of the tournament, and to say that she wasn't excited was a bit of an understatement. Even though she was still a little upset at what Miguel did, she still wished him the best.

Besides, he wasn't the only one at wrong. She couldn't just blame everything on him when there was a clear explanation. Sure, he wanted to punch Robby's face just as the latter wanted to punch his. But the root of their disagreement was Samantha, and she wouldn't say it was her fault but if she didn't get in their way━maybe she wouldn't have caught Miguel's fist. It was an accident. It was never in his intention to physically hurt her. He would never do that. Drunk or not.

Meanwhile, outside the arena where the All Valley Tournament was going to happen━the Cobra Kai students gathered around each other. They kept staring at a very furious Miguel who kept repeatedly punching the air like it did something wrong to him. Nobody tried to stop him except his closest friends.

"Yo, Miguel, calm down, man," Hawk called. "Save some for the tournament."

Miguel did stop. Only to send him a sharp glare. Then he continued what he was doing before without another word. It was obvious he was still upset about that night. He lost Samantha. But it felt like he'd also lost Raegan. He didn't know how to feel about that.

Aisha poked the boy beside her. "Hey, don't even bother. He's been super aggro ever since the breakup, and Raegan hasn't been talking to him."

"Well, where's Sensei?" Hawk asked, looking around for a certain blonde man with a permanent frown on his face. "The tournament's gonna start soon."

     "He'll be here."

"I don't know about that," Bert piped in, and the taller kids turned to him.

"What are you talking about?" Aisha asked.

"I saw him last night at the mini-mall," He told them. "I was buying a carton of milk. When I heard him in the parking lot, yelling." Then he went on about how Johnny was pissing over his car and some shit that sounded completely normal about the man.

"Well, why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Aisha exclaimed.

"I don't know," Bert said nervously. "I guess I'm just so used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like that big a deal."

"Well, we're here, and he's not. So it's officially a big deal," Hawk said exasperatedly. "What if something happened to him?"

     "Like what?" Bert asked.

"I don't know. Like he drove his car off a cliff, or he bought a gun and blew his brains out."

"No, Sensei would never kill himself," Aisha said disbelievingly. "It's too pussy a move."

Miguel finally stopped whatever he was doing, hearing their conversation about Johnny, and he turned his attention towards them. A deep frown etched on his ebony face.
