(Crimson’s Pov)
I blushed slightly as Azure took my hand and guided me through the Fire Festival in Asin Town. Earlier he had told me about how once his parents took him here to see the fire show at night, and it was sundown already. He knew of this spot under a tree where you get the best view of the fire Pokémon’s show.
He stopped in front of me and his brown hair looked golden in the light of the setting sun. he turned to look at me, and smiled.
I smiled back and asked, “Is this were we will watch the fire show?” We were on the top of a small hill, just outside the festival. The hill over looked a small rocky terrain that was covered in scorch marks, so I knew that was where the fire Pokémon would perform.
“Yes, this is where my parents took me. The festival was really amazing. I hope you enjoy it.”
I was about to reply when the roar of a Pokémon cut me off. I turned to see four Charizard’s flying down upon the valley, and Rapidash sprinted across the valley, while Blaziken started using flamethrower, spreading majestic flames everywhere. I saw Ninetales breathing fire over the Rapidash, and I saw tow Delphox begin to use Mystical Fire, but right when the flame came out of there sticks that they held, clouds swooped through the valley.
The clouds rained down on the valley, and the hill Azure and I were on. The show was canceled, in fear of the Chrizard’s safety. All the Pokémon were returned to their Pokeballs and people began to leave the festival all together.
I saw Azure sit down on the hill, letting the rain soak him. I knelt down next to him and tried to persuade him to get up.
“Come on Azure, you could catch a cold in the rain. Let’s go inside.
He looked up at me, his face unreadable. “Crimson, I’m sorry. I promised you a beautiful show and all that happened tonight was you got wet.”
I smiled and sat all the way down beside him, “Azure, I had a wonderful night with you. We can always come back and see the fire show another night. But tonight is something that will only happen once.”
He still was looking at the ground, so I continued, “And besides. You still own me for tripping me back when we were getting our starters. You owe me.”
He turned to look at me and smiled, “Well then. How about this as a payment.”
I began to blush as he leaned towards me, hair plastered against his and, soaking wet.
But I didn’t care, because that night was a knight I will always remember, even though there was no fire show.
