September 29, 1971
Ever since John's party, which was about a month and a half ago, Thalia had been feeling strange. She had been nauseous and had no appetite for the past week. She'd pretty much only eaten beets for the past few days, which was strange because she didn't even like beets.
All this time John hadn't brought up what happened the night of the party, Thalia hoped that he hadn't remembered anything.
Over this past month, things had been changing like crazy. Queen finished recording their first album and had gigs almost every night. Thalia would go to as many as she could, but sometimes she'd be quite fatigued from a long day a work and would stay at home just to rest.
Tonight was one of the nights Queen had a concert and Thalia was particularly excited to attend. She didn't have a reason, she was just proud of John and the others and enjoyed watching them perform.
After work, Thalia changed into a pair of black pants that flared out at the bottom and a red blouse. She pulled her long blonde hair up into a ponytail and added a red headband to match her blouse. Once she was satisfied with her look she made her way to the pub that Queen would be performing at later tonight.
On her way, she observed the trees along the sides of the road beginning to show signs of fall. Some were becoming varying shades of yellow and red, while others remained green for the time being. It was the almost the end of September, so Thalia was ecstatic to see the trees changing color. She was practically skipping down the street.
When Thalia reached the pub she sat down at the bar and ordered a beer while she waited for the band to come on. When their performance started, Thalia joined the crowd and sung along to all of their songs. She spent most of the time watching John, but she did frequently watch Freddie, who was quite the showman. Occasionally John would make eye contact with her and would smile. Thalia would smile back, feeling heat her cheeks. Knowing that John paid attention to her when there was a whole crowd of people made her feel special.
After the show was over Thalia cheered with the crowd and began to make her way to the dressing room, which was really just a closet where the band could go for privacy after the show. The boys were waving her over. She made it about halfway to the dressing room before a wave of nausea passed over her. She put a hand over her mouth and nearly toppled over before running to the bathroom. John followed her and waited outside of the women's room. After a minute he knocked on the door.
"Thalia, dear, are you alright?" He asked worriedly.
Thalia walked out of the bathroom and nodded. "Yes, I'm fine," she affirmed. "You were wonderful tonight," she said with a smile.
John put an arm around her. "Thanks, love."
The two walked to the dressing room to be with the rest of the band.
"Thalia, darling, is everything okay?" Freddie inquired.
"Everything's alright, Freddie." Thalia answered softly. "I've just been nauseous for a couple of days, I'm sure it'll pass soon," she said with a smile.
Roger listened and remembered the morning after John's birthday party. He looked confused until something clicked. "Huh..." He said quietly.
"What was that, Rog?" Brian asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just talking to myself," Roger replied.
