Asuna POV:
I was sitting at my desk completing the homework provided to me by the SAO Survivor School. It wasn't anything major that couldn't be accomplished in more than two hours, however, it has already taken me three hours and I have only gotten sixty percent of it completed.
"Why is it taking so long to find this x-value!" I yelled due frustration
I knew that I understood how to complete the problem, I was taking so long due to other things that my brain is thinking of. In this case, it was Kirito.
Ever since I told Mr. Kikouka about anything I knew of Kirito, I had not heard from him besides one message which read 'I have found Kirito but I will not disclose any information about him to you until he is safe from the media attention that is currently trying to find him'
When I read this message, I was extremely frustrated by the fact that he couldn't tell me anything. After being frustrated, I asked my father to find Kazuto Kirigaya without revealing his in-game name but yesterday the private investigators came up short due to Mr. Kikouka hiding all information related to Kirito and his family. It was really frustrating knowing he was out there and not being able to see him.
"Where are you Kirito, I really need you in my life..."
While complaining about all these events that occurred over the last month, my phone got a message from Rika (Lis IRL Name). I opened it up and read:
Rika - Hey, you there?
Asuna - Yeah
Rika - Ok good. Just found out from Yulier that there is a meeting or hangout taking place at Agil's Cafe on Saturday. Yulier said Agil didn't mention what it's about, but apparently, he wants everyone there.
Asuna - OK, sounds good to me. What time?
Rika - It's around six which is a bit late, but it is very important
Asuna - Ok, I'll be there, but not for too long
Rika - Ok, I'll see you in school tomorrow, bye
Asuna - see ya tomorrow
"I wonder what's this meeting is about that is so important"
In the beginning, we had a couple of meetings with everyone to get to know each other better. I had always hoped to see Kirito at one them but was always disappointed in the end. Therefore, I tried to never get my hopes up.
I sat back down and continued to do my homework. After an hour or so, I was told by the maid to be down for dinner in fifteen minutes. I got up and changed into more appropriate clothes and started to head down for dinner.
Once I was down, I stood in front of the door and quickly sighed before entering the room. I opened the door to see my mother sitting at the last seat on the left side of the table and the seat where my father usually sat at was empty. I walked to my seat which was opposite of my mothers and quickly sat down.
"Hello Mother"
"Hello there Asuna, how did you do today at that so-called 'school'" she replied with disgust at the end without looking up from her tablet which she was reading an article on
"The day was ok today, we got our marks back today" I replied ignoring my mother's tone
"And how did you" finally looking up from her article
"I got top of the class again, however, I did lose marks on one question"
"You'll have to improve yourself if you want to be able to leave that dump of an education center," she said with a hint of anger
I nodded in reply, trying not to provoke my mother any further
Once our food came out, both of us quietly ate our food until we were both no longer hungry. We sat there in awkward silence while the maids quickly cleaned up the table.
"Anyways Asuna, we will be having dinner with Suguo on Saturday. So be sure to dress nicely" She said continuing to read her article from where she had left off at
"I'm sorry Mother, but I won't be able to attend. I have a meeting with a couple of friends" I said in a calm voice. Whenever my Mother would set up dinner plans with Suguo I would try my best to get out of them.
"If these friends are the ones you made in that game, then you will not be attending that get together and will be home having dinner with us"
"Mother, those friends are the ones who helped me get out of SAO. Plus it's a very important meeting that may concern all of the people who were trapped in that game and need I remind you that I was one of those people" I said while raising my voice slightly
"Sadly yes, you were one of those people. But I'm the one here trying to make your future secure with two years of your life being trapped in there. Do you know how difficult that is to accomplish?"
"Mother, I don't need you to make my future. I can do that well on my own"
"I'm sorry, but this isn't up for discussion"
"Well, I'm sorry that I won't be attending dinner on Saturday whether it be I'm inside the house or not"
I quickly got out of my seat and rushed out of the room and ran upstairs into my room, locking the door behind me. I could hear my mother shouting my name, but I chose to ignore it. I laid down in my bed and started to cry.
"Why was I so strong in that world, yet so weak here"
I laid down and cried for a while before finally getting up and walking over to the window to look and see the pitch black sky. I thought of all the fights that I had fought in alongside Kirito and the others and how we were able to slowly climb up until the seventy-fifth floor. I remembered myself watching the fight between the Commander and Kirito and how I jumped in between them when the Commander was about to give the final blow. I remember looking into Kirito's eyes and seeing the despair in them. If I was given the chance to let Kirito die there rather than myself, I wouldn't take it.
I decided that I would go to that meeting even if it was at the cost of completely ruining my relationship with my mother. I was gonna go.
I sat back down at my desk and looked at my computer and read articles about the mysterious defeater of the game known as Kirito. My Kirito.
