Warmth tingled softly upon my cheeks, and my eyes opened slowly and were met with immediate brightness. My eyebrows scrunched, and I sat up from my previous position, looking around. Before me lay Bradley, asleep and unmoving. No pain was etched onto his features, but his chest lifted with each short breath he took.
I had realized I'd fallen asleep whilst with him, because my head felt heavier than it had in a while. Heavy with the thoughts of my parents and overflowing emotions but now, all that was on my mind was him.
I watched his peaceful expression and gazed upon him; my eyes sad.
Of the short and few memories we'd made together, they'd have been my most treasured and cherished. Before Bradley, I had spent my time and career alone with my heart locked away from anyone else. But for some complete odd reason, when we'd first laid eyes upon each other that day in the studio I felt the unbreakable lock on my heart jiggle.
The day at Baristas. That rainy day where everyone had holed up in their homes whilst the storm raged on outside, Bradley sat across from me at a rounded table. I could remember the scents of coffee that rushed in through my nostrils, sending tranquility to my nerves. His smile and his small stories that he spewed out to me, and his unworried posture and aura. The two of us laughing wholeheartedly at his jokes, both having a grand time.
I still feel the touch of the warm hands that rested upon my arms at Scott's house with care and gentleness, whilst his eyes looked deep into mine; almost as if to fathom me out. His calmed features fooled me, even though deep down he was terrified because I saw his pupils shaking. Parties weren't his thing, after all.
He'd been strong that day, to act calm in such a situation.
I knew he'd be okay.
