Panting hotly into Joe's ear, Dianne spoke the words they knew was coming. "That's it. We can't do that again."
"I know." Joe panted equally back.
"I'm getting married in two days. Then we can't."
"I know."
"But I loved this you know that right?" Joe smiled. He knew she did, but sometimes nature takes the wrong course.
"Me too. You don't even want to get married so how could I look back on this with sad memories? It's been great Dianne Buswell." Joe began standing up and putting his clothes on.
"You don't have to go. Patrick will be at dinner for hours with my family and his. They think I'm sick." Joe pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"And I love you for lying, but it's best I go. It's been the best time Di. I'll see you soon."
"Joe!" Dianne quickly grabbed his hand. "You know if I could I'd do this all differently right?" Joe nodded.
"Of course I do. It's not your fault. This marriage has been arranged before you were born. I'll see you soon." With that Joe left her bedroom and she heard him leave the house. What he didn't know is he just took her heart with him.

"So in the morning, you will be getting ready here and the car will come at 11 to be at church for 12 okay?" Patrick said for the millionth time.
"Yes Patrick I know."
"Great. My mother will be with you so entertain her please." Dianne nodded as she pushed the pasta round and round her bowl. "Okay I'm going to go to my room now. Goodnight."
"Night." Ever since they moved in together, they had separate bedrooms, not that Dianne minded. She held so many memories of Joe in her own bedroom. She felt bad for cheating on Patrick but she knew love was never shared between either of them, they were doing this for their parents. They had never gotten sexual together and have only kissed on rare occasions to make people believe the love was there. Dianne couldn't do it, once she married this man that was it, she would no longer be able to see Joe. Whilst Patrick was a darling boy with enough money to throw away, and he was so lovely and even devilishly handsome, Joe was the one who stole Dianne's heart. Soon enough Dianne had got herself into a huge tiff about the whole situation. She couldn't bare the thought of no longer being able to see Joe, and as cliche as it sounds, his touch was what calmed her.

"Joe please-" Dianne sobbed down the phone as soon as he answered. "I can't-"
"Di, stop, don't speak. Just breath. Slowly. In and out, copy me babe yeah." He breathed on the other side of the phone to have her imitate.
"Joe I cant do it." Dianne sobbed again.
"Hey babe listen, just breath now, and speak when you've calmed down okay, can you do that for me?" Joe waited for a few minutes until her fast breaths become shallow and calmer.
"I can't do it. I can't marry him. I don't want to loose you." She sobbed to him. She really meant it.
"You won't loose me babe. I'll still always be your friend, we just can't do what we have been this whole time. But you know I love you and I would never ever leave your life." Joe tried comforting her. "I'll be there tomorrow to look at how gorgeous you are and I'll be beaming with pride." This made Dianne smile but also bring out a new issue.
"I don't want to marry him! I want to marry you! He doesn't love me and I don't love him."
"Babe calm down okay? You've got this. I'll be there every step of the way, you will never ever loose me. I've got you."

"I know it's not what you want. I'll tell my parents it wasn't right, they'll understand."
"Thank you, I'm sorry it was like this."
"Don't worry. Go get your man"

Dianne was knocking continuously on a door, with a smile from ear to ear. She had received many strange looks in the street due to her running in a wedding dress in the rain. "I'm coming oh my god." She heard his stressed voice on the other side. "What-" the door flung open and his eyes laid on her. He took in her appearance, the wet dress, hair stuck to her face, her eyelashes partially stuck together, but all he focused on was her smile. "Jesus Christ Di! Come inside." He was in the process of doing up his little bow tie as she intruded. Joe pulled her inside and shut the door. "You're freezing, come here." He wrapped a blanket that was conveniently placed close by. "You're meant to be getting married in 2 hours what's happening?"
"He knew. This morning he came to me and said he didn't want to force me into anything and he could find someone else. He knew I was so in love with you and I couldn't live without you, I apologised for going behind his back but he was so understanding. He didn't care. Joe I'm free, I don't have to loose you." She was crying but Joe could tell that in contrast to the night prior, this was happy tears. "We've done it Joe." The boy couldn't respond he just pulled her in. She was that soaked it began to seep into his clothes. "We've done it."

"Could you be more happy?" Caspar teased. Joe was at his kitchen door, smiling like an idiot as he watched Dianne jokingly dance round whilst she cooked him and the boys breakfast. They didn't ask for it, and when she offered they declined feeling too bad but she was gladly whipping them all up a full English.
"To be honest Casp, no I couldn't."
"I still can't believe your luck. You got your girl." He said.
"Me either mate, I need to thank God every night." Caspar laughed. "I'm going to go help her, I'll be back soon." Caspar smiled and nodded before retreating back into the games room. Joe toddled over to Di, smiling as she turned to him. "Hi babe."
"Hello." She pressed a kiss to his lips quickly before plating up some eggs. "I don't mind anything but can you all please eat in here, least then I don't have to hoover the carpet in there." Joe smiled.
"We will yes, but you've cooked, I'll clean, this is not your duty." He said as he nicked a bite of her toast. She playfully walked him making him laugh.
"I love you."
"Random. But I love you too."
"I mean it though Joe, I really do." Joe's eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeah me too babe. Not to be too vulgar but I loved you when I was sleeping with someone else's fiancé, so I definitely still love you now." She laughed.
"I'm so happy with how things worked out, I have you, this perfect little home and all our plants."
"And the boys! You can't forget the boys." They both laughed.
"No I couldn't forget the boys."
