Genesis' POV

A few days passed after that incident at recess. There was an increase in security at our school. It was evident that they took it seriously because there would be at least one security officer in each hall. They were also limiting the amount of time of recess, which my third graders were upset about. The entire school was trying to figure out who the school shooter was, so the FBI stepped in. S.H.I.E.L.D. also decided to help as well. I was amazed by the assistance we were receiving, especially from an agency whose main focus was on global security.

According to Whitney, the kids missed Jerry and me a lot. They would whine and constantly ask her when we would return from our medical leave. All the kids see Jerry and me as the superheroes of the school now. Some of them were re-enacting what happened during recess. I was a bit worried if they ever did see what I did to that stranger. When I asked Whitney if she saw anything odd happened that day, specifically, the bullet incident, she said she didn't actually see anything because of the build-up of wind and snow. Basically, it was only the stranger and me who witnessed it happen.

I really didn't mean for the bullet to hurt him. I hope he was alright though.

I was discharged from the hospital today, but I had to continue to take my pain medications and change my bandages every day. Jerry would be released a little later on since he took a full blow to the leg. We both were unable to return to work, of course. Our boss believed our health was the number one priority.

Sitting in the passenger's seat, I rested my head against the window of the cab. "You're lucky I didn't tell mama and baba," my sister, Monica, scolded. "You should thank me."

I rolled my eyes at the eldest sibling, who was only a year apart from me. She secretly flew to Washington D.C. once she heard about my injury.

"Do the kids know?" I muttered, referring to the 'kids' to my two younger brothers.

She scoffed. "Once I told them about you, they laughed and threw a party," she chuckled.

Of course, they would.

"Kidding, they did laugh though."

I nodded, checking my messages from them. I smiled, seeing my brothers' insults. That's how I know how much they care for me.

Only my siblings knew about my dreams, not my parents. They didn't believe at first, especially my sister. My brothers enjoyed listening to my dreams and the ones that do come true. But, I haven't told them that I could do...whatever I did to that stranger.

"Hopefully mama or baba haven't realized that you've been gone."

Monica shrugged, obviously not caring one bit. "Well, they haven't called me yet. Guess we'll know when they start to spam me. Did you dream about it this time?"

I sighed, banging my head against the window. "It was so weird." Entering into the roundabout of Dupont Circle, we were near my apartment. I began to whisper, so the driver couldn't hear me. "Like, I had the dream on the same day of the incident."

The cab signaled right. "Do you even go to church?" Monica asked.

I scrunched my face at her. "How is that relevant to what we're talking about?"

She shrugged. "So you can get an exorcism, duh. Maybe we can get rid of those dreams you have been having." The cab parked next to my apartment.

I punched her in the shoulders. "They're called 'dreams', not 'demons', you crackhead."

She gave me a glare. "And you can still punch even with your injury," she muttered, getting out of the cab to get her luggage.
