Hi everyone! Hope y'all are safe and healthy!

I've been editing the previous chapters before this one, so that's the reason why it's been taking a while. I meant to update two days ago, but that didn't work out.

Chris Evans finally got an Instagram! Y'all better be nice to him. If I see any mean/hateful comments, I will hunt you down. AND Avengers Endgame won favorite movie for Kids' Choice Awards 2020! Yay!

Steve's POV

Fury dimmed the lights of the lamp next to him. I waited as Fury typed on his phone. He flipped the screen to me.

EARS EVERYWHERE

God...

I scanned my apartment room for any suspicious activities. "I'm sorry to have to do this, but I had no place else to crash." Fury continued to type and turned his phone's screen to me.

SHIELD COMPROMISED

"Who else knows about your wife?" I questioned. Fury groaned as he rose from his recliner chair.

YOU, ME, AND HER

He kept his phone low by his side. I turned to the confused Genesis. "Just...my friends," he responded while clutching his side and limping towards me.

"Is that what we are?" I asked.

"That's up to you," Fury responded.

All of a sudden, loud gunshots were fired. Genesis, who stood behind Fury, cried as a bullet grazed her arm. She fell forward, and I swiftly caught her, pulling her away from the wall, which now has three holes punctured through.

"I-I'm okay," she uttered. She winced, briefly clenching her eyes, as she clutched her bleeding arm. She glanced at the window before she looks down at Fury. "We n-need to get him out of here."

I nodded, dragging a moaning Fury to a nearby room. "Genesis, stay here, okay?" She nodded violently and began to apply pressure to any visible wounds on Fury despite her own bullet injury.

Before leaving, Fury grabbed a hold of my hand, shifting my attention to him. In his hand laid a flash drive. "Don't...trust anyone," he breathed before passing out.

I stared at a frightened Genesis, who was trying to hold in her tears and to stop Fury's bleeding. My eyes squinted at the soft green light radiating off of her hands as she pressed against his chest.

What...what was that?

Loud bangs at the door broke my scrutinization. Instinctively, I shielded Genesis away from the door. It sounded as if someone was trying to break in.

"Captain Rogers?" I heard a familiar voice outside my apartment.

Kate?

My neighbor burst through the door and carefully crept into my apartment with her gun raised. "Captain, I'm Agent 13 of S.H.I.E.L.D Special Service."

I thought she was just my neighbor.

"Kate?" I called.
